Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited early in the day with my daughter to buy bread and treats. Could have been tempted to buy one of everything! The gentlemen serving were efficient, informative and above all lovely to my daughter. A tray of caramel shortbread had a couple of broken pieces and they gifted her one in a bag, she was thrilled!
The sourdough was top notch. We all tried their Cronuts which went down a treat but were a massive hit with my husband.
Also worth mentioning their Covid set up was one of the best we came across in St Ives High Street.

I have previously purchased bread, cakes, and Pasties from here on numerous occasions and always written positive reviews. On this visit I bought a soda bread which was lovely toasted and filled with Cornish salted butter.
I also had a Flaky Steak Pasty and was disappointed because the base of it was overcooked and hard, I ended up peeling it off.

Perfect pasties, pastries, cakes and breads. Shopped here every day, and were never disappointed. Pasties are baked on site, which means they are ready a bit later than some other options. But definitely worth the wait - best we had.

The bread and pasties looked very inviting in the window, so choose to go in for some cakes, unfortunately the assistant was on his phone and not very welcoming. I ordered 3 doughnuts & an eccles cake and was shocked to be charged £1.85 for a standard jam doughnut!! As there were no prices on display, this was unexpected and feel the reason the prices are not displayed is to charge an extortionate amount or maybe even charge different prices for customers! Will not be returning or recommending. Another bakery 100 yards away were selling 2 doughnuts for £1.50... we will be going there in future.

Called in mid afternoon for a couple of cakes but the lights were off and it looked as if it was closed as no produce other than that in the window. I did ask if it was still open which was met with a grunt. Man behind the counter needs to learn some basic customer service .. ie, be polite and serve with a smile. The whole experience wasn’t great, even when paying a card reader was thrust at me. I’ve noticed there are a few similar reviews... they need to take note as with all the competition in the town, this shop can’t afford to be complacent.

I’ve been visiting this bakery year after year and always will do. The pasty’s are fabulous, really large and thick with lots a filling and flavour. As a veggie, the vegetarian pasty being so full of flavour is always welcome and my children absolutely love the shortcrust steak. The cakes are huge and beautifully presented and we can never resist a cruffin or meringue. Yes, the place is busy but for good reason and definitely worth the queue! They have good Covid measures in place such as a one way system in and out and card payments accepted. It’s a lovely place in a great location and there’s nothing better than taking away some of these bakes and eating on one of the many, beautiful, nearby beaches.

Great baked products. Visited pretty much every day of our holiday. We bought bread, doughnuts, chocolate brownies, fruit and plain scones and beef pasties. Staff are very friendly and helpful when asking for advice. Very busy so you may need to queue.

We popped into the bakery looking for a few things for lunch and tea after walking the dogs. Turkish flatbread is superb - we’ve eaten it with a veggie bake in the evening and then with scrambled eggs for breakfast. That’s two meals for two people - bargain! The chocolate brownies are pretty good too

Went there twice during a weekend break to St Ives. Once for some rolls at breakfast (the cinnamon swirl was amazing) and another time for pasties. I had the steak and stilton pasty, and some places make this with mince, but these were proper chunks of steak, cooked to perfection.

Visited St Ives and was told this was the best place for pasties, they were absolutely delicious but the man and women serving couldnt have been ruder, whilst in the que they said to the people behind us, 'don't stand with these lot, come round the back and we'll serve you' when we did get to the counter they completely ignored us talking between themselves keeping us waiting and after a while then just started at us in silence with a miserable look on their face not even saying hello or asking what we would like. We were so annoyed when we left the shop, there was 8 of us so we spent quite a bit of money and all agreed they were so rude. If you dont want tourists money put on the front of your store locals only.

Caught them early morning and had to wait but what a joy. The Cornish pasties are superb as are the many sweets and cakes. We tried the steak which was succulent with tasty veg and a soft delicate pastry - best pasty we'd ever tasted and have tried a few over the years all over Cornwall.

I had googled the best Cornish pasty in St Ives and was not disappointed! Flavoursome crisp pastry with an generous amount of filling, large chunks of steak which was tender and slightly pink in the middle. I also had a chocolate brownie which was fudgy and moorish. I would happily have gone back for more if I weren’t so full.

Whilst the quality of the cakes and pastries is good the service in this bakery is absolutely terrible. We have been to St Ives 4 times over the last year and are always met with sour faces and rude staff. We asked if a slice of tray bake could be cut in half for our children to share one visit and despite seeing a knife behind the counter were told no.
The staff look at each other and smirk when you ask for a receipt. All in all I have now accepted tourists visiting and staying in the town are not welcome.
I have found all the other bakers etc. to be very friendly so will shop in the many alternatives available.

It's a nice as everyone says! Fresh and delicious, a huge range of products and very friendly customer service, even in mid-August. We didn't bother with restaurants in St Ives so we had croissants for breakfast, used the bread for sandwiches at lunch, and then toasted the bread the next morning for bread and jam for breakfast. Yum!

We love the traditional cornish pasty and we have tried a lot over our holidays. But the ones from this bakery are the best by far. Lots of moist even quantities of spicy filling & a tasty pastry which wasn't dry. Very friendly welcoming staff too.
