I don't recall ever coming to St Ives and not eating here, its like visiting an old friend. Managed to book the window seat and although it was dark outside you can clearly see and hear the sea washing up on Porthqwidden Beach whilst we sat inside cosy and warm. The food is good hearty food as opposed to fine... More

This brilliant little café/restaurant's superb location literally on the beach, with a picture window over the cove, is matched by the food and the service. We had a great dinner of beautifully-cooked local seafood and scrumptious desserts incorporating yummy local craft ice-cream. Service was excellent, the wine list was short but good quality at various price levels. Can't recommend highly... More

This place always delivers and today was no exception. The Bellevue Earl Grey tea is particularly pleasing and the orange polenta cake causes noises of contentment to emit from the eater. Stunning views and strangely faded turquoise sea colour despite the more grey skies today.

Lovely cafe and facilities in a absolutely beautiful position overlooking the beach and sea so a stunning view. Busy cafe some tables reserved so customers turned away but I guess this shows its popularity but staff really gave the impression they did not want be there that day. As we finished our drinks we noticed that the Elderflower cordial was... More

This is a small posh cafe off the beaten St Ives track, a brilliant location and view to Dine For. My crab linguine was delicious but the portion was small. Little flakes of crab, 2 prawns and 5 small mussels is not value for money at £13.99. Service was ok, but was not asked if the meal was ok whilst... More

In short my favourite destination to eat in St Ives. Genuine welcoming service. Despite the unassuming small building, easy to walk past and not venture down the slope, there is a modern decor in which to enjoy the food. Went for dinner, the hake was delicious. Lovely list of specials. So good, went back a couple of days later for... More

Needed a traditional Cornish cream tea mid afternoon and decided to call into Porthgwidden Beach Cafe on the way back into St Ives centre. The smell of late lunch dishes being cooked lured us in but we came for one thing only and didn't want to be distracted. A beach side table was found on the terrace and although the... More

We all enjoyed our food - we booked an hour ahead and managed to get a table outside on 30th December. Service could be a little more cheerful but otherwise a lovely spot and good food.

We visited this restaurant on two occassions on our recent visit to Cornwall. The food is excellent especially the Paella and the superb puddings. The service is very good. A special mention to a blonde haired lady thats worked here for a number of years now, always very attentive and hard working, nothing seems to be too much trouble. This... More
