Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First we were happy, service great, friendly staff. My first visit since a coeliac diagnosis, so was pleasantly surprised when I ordered the full English. I was allowed to swap out the sausage for an extra bacon and told my hash brown would be fried...separately.. all good so far.. all breakfasts included toast my was toast half the size of everyone else's but that seems to be the case in most eating establishments when we have inferior basic food products...then the bill !!!! As we were leaving... £47 of breakfast you charged me extra for my toast!!! I felt totally cheated and very insulted as everyone else's is included in price.. shame on you !!! It's hard enough having food allergies without cafes like you cashing in on it... proper hacked me offMore

Given the rising cost of EVERYTHING associated with running a business; rent, rates, energy, staff costs, ingredients, it's not feasible for us to include Gluten Free Bread on a breakfast (50p extra) Unfortunately it costs us double to buy in compared to normal bread. As...More

We recently spent a week in St. Ives with our three children (aged 6,8 and 14) and found ourselves returning to this little gem of a cafe, daily. The staff are super friendly, even when it was busy, they went out of their way to...ensure we were well taken care of. The menu has an extensive range of food, suitable for everyone, especially one of our children, whom is vegan. I sampled the green goddess salad and crsipy duck sandwich which is to die for! They use all fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection at extremely reasonable prices. Their 'Posh Eggs' was a family favourite. Definitely a place not to miss out on if you're visiting this idillyc town. Thoroughly recommended!! We will definitely be back.More

Well all had Sandwiches which were very overpriced. £10 for a Sandwich is OK if it is excellent and comes with fries or a big portion of crisps. The Sandwiches were very average with about 7 or 8 crisps. LIMITED gluten Free options too. Can't...recommendMore

Best to state the correct facts here rather than mislead any potential customers... We have a menu that IS, and ALWAYS WILL BE inclusive of dietary preferences. We currently have 17 items (on the lunch menu alone) that we can adapt to be Gluten Free....More

This cafe is tucked away a short stroll from the seafront of this Cornish tourist hotspot. The breakfast menu offers many interesting options and service is efficient and friendly. Prices are typical for the town and the quality of the food is very good. There...is a lovely mix of locals and tourists and a buzzy, busy atmosphere with fast but not hurried service. If you are in the area Scoff Troff cafe is worth a visit.More

We wanted eggs on toast for a quick lunch but that is only available before 12.00. We then chose mackerel on toast (available after 12.00) but they didn't have any. In the end we just had a cup of tea. St Ives was really busy...but this cafe was more or less empty - not surprising.More

Food was standard at best and good service however, after paying the bill and leaving I noticed on the receipt that they had added a “discretionary tip” without mentioning it to me. I don’t mind tipping but only when I feel it’s deserved. Check your...bill before you pay!!!More

Popped in for dinner with my daughter as they do gluten free pizza - at no extra cost. But, the gluten free pizza was much smaller (ready made base) than the regular pizza. I opted for goats cheese and carmalised onions. Only it wasnt carmalised...onions it was onion relish. Not very much actual goats cheese, a bit tight tbh. Still it was pleasant enough but for £14.95 although for the price I would have expected better. My daughter had the normal margheritta at £11.95 Diet coke was £2.70 and a pint of cider £5.20 The total for 2 pizzas and 2 drinks was £34.80, but they had the cheek to put on service charge - one of my absolute hates; its so very rude. The service was quick but nothing specialMore

This was top of my list when planning my trip to St Ives and I was so disappointed. When we first arrived the waitress allowed us to pick between two tables to sit and told us she’d bring us menus. She never did. When someone...else saw us and that we didn’t have menus, I felt as if she was accusing us of sitting ourselves without her say-so. My mother had a scone which was dry and tasteless. I had a breakfast but wasn’t given any cutlery. By the time I got it my food was cold. We were sat next to the espresso machine which was caked in dust and at eye level was a space in the espresso machine filled with dust and grime. Maybe it was just a bad day, but we left disappointed.More

This is a great cafe. The coffee standards are up there. The coffee grinder they use is the best too! Well done for that. Now the food, it’s great! Lovely choice of all manner of things from full English too a “smoker”. Friendly staff, clean...tidy, dare I say a tad funky too. Great job!More

I know places are starting to jazz up the term cafe, jazzing up the prices too, but this place is actually a cafe and you can’t really complain about it not being fine dining Etc it does what it says on the tin. Enjoyable.

We always come to Scoff Troff when we are in St Ives (we only live 30min away) and it never fails to deliver. Modern and quirky cafe with yummy food and one of the best Chai Latte you’ll find.

Cracking little find. The dough balls were ace, the halloumi fries first class and then we got to the Pizzas! All really good. My wife loved the Hummous vegan one and my son the sausage based 'banger'. Beers wee local and really good

We went here for breakfast as it is doggy friendly. We were seated quickly despite the queue by a friendly lady. Fab atmosphere, busy and defo dog friendly. But the food was overpriced for the portion. My partner ordered a full English but asked to...swap fried eggs for poached but they don't do substitutions. So he ordered poached eggs on toast with a side of bacon. Sides were £1.50, his breakfast came as ordered, the side was one piece approx 3inches long of bacon, with one toast. I had eggs benedict, it was ok, but tepid. The additional side of toast my partner ordered was £3.95 and took 20 mins to arrive. With the 10% service charge added on bringing it to just under £30, I can safely say we won't be rushing back. Though the dog enjoyed the sausage.More
