I arranged my wife’s 70th birthday party on last Saturday evening at the Conservatory, booking a table for 12 family and friends. The service, food, wine, and ambience were all first rate. I particularly appreciate the attention to the details I requested, (the presentation of the cake, meeting the guests with drinks, and allowing us to change seats between courses... More

Visited the conservatory for a belated valentines lunch with my husband yesterday. We wanted a nice white table cloth lunch somewhere that wasn't a chain and out of the hustle and bustle. We had a fantastic meal , absolutely outstanding food, and enjoyed a good selection of wines by the glass. I ate from the early bird menu which was... More

Normally go to Cote when in town but fancied something different and checked Trip Advisor and this came up with a good rating . Doesn't look much from outside , and odd entering , however... When you go through you are in a very nice welcoming g eating area, quickly and very well greeted and seated. Water, Olives and Bread... More

Was there mid-week while on a business trip in Exeter. After having had our fill of pub-grub we were after higher quality fare. This place delivered. It's a quirky layout for a restaurant. Space space which was bright and cozy. I had the Bacon wrapped Venison with poached pears in Red Wine reduction. I didn't expect the dish to be... More

On our most recent visit we took advantage of the set lunch menu which was incredibly good value for money. It's a little off the beaten track in an unpromising looking street but well worth seeking out.

We had a great dinner on our visit to Exeter for Christmas shopping. It was very busy with parties but they did very well to attend to everyone without too much of a wait. The food was great and very tasty and we will definitely be back again on our next visit to the city.

We had lunch for a special occasion. Delicious food and attentive service despite the restaurant being full. And very good value!

Both the food and service were exceptional. Booked for evening meal after reading previous reviews and so pleased we did. The food was outstanding, one of the best meals ever, would recommend both the venison and the pork. The service was quick, friendly and helpful, especially impressive as they were also looking after a large group of 15-20 at the... More

As someone who has been an infrequent dinner since it opened 14 years ago, I welcomed the opportunity to call in for lunch on a rare visit to Exeter. I have always liked the way the Conservatory has managed to combine a fine dining experience with a relaxed, and almost informal setting, this remains as true under the present owners... More

Description
For a taste of the Mediterranean without leaving the West Country look no further than Exeter’s The Conservatory. With huge windows obscured by white blinds, tall exotic plants and Swedish-meets-French countryside painted furniture you almost feel it would be a shame to call in after sunset. But come in for dinner and you’ll find yourself in an intimate and romantic setting perfect for that relaxed dinner to help you forget about bills, work and worries. Sail away on a culinary cruise through Europe as the menu takes you from Britain via France and in to Italy and beyond with plenty of local ingredients to keep the flavours fresh and delicious.
