Lovely coffee shop with a warm welcome always. Great choice of cakes and lunches. Excellent value for money. Dogs allowed. Definitely the best coffee shop on the Quay.

Best Dang Chocolate I have ever had!!! Aside from this great setting, just what you want from a cafe. The tea was copious too.
The blackcurrant yoghurt topped flapjack is a must. Lovely river view. Very chilled. Coffee took a while to arrive but worth the wait.
5* standard service, incredible cream tea, made even better by cheerful team. Definitely recommend, ordered second round!
Just back from a blowy walk on Exeter quay. Have had many coffees outside from this cafe but today was windy and wet. Why didn’t we realise they had an inside??? What an inside it was! Quirky and cosy. Fabulous service and lovely drinks and...cakes from friendly guys. Faultless. Will defo sit inside again. Thank youMore
Currently outdoor service only, so felt very safe, and looked after by friendly, obliging staff, even though it was a busy day. Great coffee and high quality cakes. Hot food selection also looked good, although we didn't sample ourselves
I called in for an ice-cream. Their sign said it was Devon ice-cream and one of the flavours was rum and raisin, my favourite, so I chose that. He disappeared out the back and returned with a small cone for £2.20. There were no raisins...visible, so I assumed they were hidden. By the time I had eaten about half (it didn't take long!) I still hadn't encountered a single raisin. I showed my friend and asked her opinion. She agreed I should show him, and ask for my raisins. To say he was dismissive would be putting it politely. He shooed me away, as if I was an annoying fly. It wasn't anything to do with him if his advertised ice cream is not as described. I finished it - of course, not a single raisin. So I am writing this as a warning. Do not buy ice-cream here. He accepts no responsibility for it.More
Glacial slowness. 20 minutes for 3 people to be served. Staff drifted about with neither purpose or pace, including repeatedly returning to the kitchen for their notepad to jot down the simplest of orders. Currently waiting for my ice cream to be delivered, plenty to...time to write a review and complete my online shopping. Painful.More
Today Boxing Day , went for a hot chocolate, which was only Luke warm and quite pricy , however my issue was with the worker at the front of house , middle aged man so should know better ! My husband took his receipt from...the machine , in which the previous customer had done also , this worker totally lost it with him , shouting we shouldn’t touch the machine as it’s his way of knowing if we’d paid he could charge us again ! He is too busy to deal with this sort of thing !!! Couldn’t we see the customers waiting really over the top behaviour for an innocent mistake , in these difficult times when you want to support local businesses you would think people would be happy to have custom !!! I will never use this cafe again , and thankfully there are other lovely independent cafes on the quay that welcome customers and serve hot drinks ! Shame on you !More
What a rude man. (identified by his little pony tail) Apparently after swiping my card for payment, I took his receipt in error, completely innocent action. The man not only pointed out my error but then proceeded to be very rude and tried to make...out that I had done it on purpose. He continued his rant in front of other customers. Very unprofessional! I will never ever use this place again and I will pass on my thoughts to my friends. This at a time when we are encouraged to help local business. Retraining required. And the hot chocolate was only warm!More
Fantastic weather to spend a few hours at Exeter Quay. Based on reviews chose to have coffee and breakfast at The Coffee Cellar. We sat outside (inside was closed), welcoming and friendly staff member took our order - flat whites, sausage brioche, and apricot flapjack....Coffee was pretty good, the brioche was a real disappointment - sausage wasn't very good quality and appeared to be cheap catering sausage which was really disappointing. Thankfully flapjack was yummy. Good location, coffee and service was good, so if you avoid the sausage you'll have a good experience.More
Very tasty paninis. Friendly and speedy service. We felt safe from covid 19. Great for sitting on the sunny side of the quay and people watch.
Stopped for a coffee after a cycle up the estuary. Definitely recommend this place. Lovely outside seating on a sunny day. Such good coffee; wish I'd asked what it was!
Lovely staff and the coffee was delicious. Great to be able to sit outside and watch the world go by. Would recommend.
Love this place, wonderfully situated. They have been open for take aways during the whole Corvid thing and I have been grateful for a decent cup of coffee. I'm a bit mystified as to what could have happened with the reviews below as the staff...are always helpful chatty and funny. Service is great and have coped well with the queues and demand during this time, and honestly the coffee is the best. Highly recommend a visit if your in Exeter.More
