Not a nice place to go for a drink. Walking past we saw what looked like a nice pub from the outside, steamed up windows giving the impression of atmosphere inside. On entering, we were met with a strong chip shop/Chinese takeaway smell, overly bright 'cafe' that had a bar appended to it. Very confusing. There was no atmosphere, apart... More

We had the unfortunate fate of ordering the Chinese set menu and it was to include curried chicken. The waitress later apologised and said that they did not have chicken but they had lamb. What turned up was not curried at all but lamb with tomato based stew on top of rice with fatty dim sims and fat oozing chips.... More

A nice pub with a friendly atmosphere but the food was only ok nothing special. The fish and chips was ok but I think the fish was out of a box not a nice fresh bubbly battered one.

On the plus side the staff were friendly. On the minus side the patio is small and had a lot of smokers. The bar is tired and characterless and the food was frozen deep fried and vile. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Myself and four friends stopped here before heading back to our campsite in doone valley. We all ordered together, my meal was given to a different table i was waiting over an hour for my meal, when I decided to go up to ask about it all the waitress did was argue with me, when it finally got to me... Spent an hour here after a long walk to the Valley of Rocks and Woody Bay, whilst waiting for a taxi. I'd describe it as a cross between a pub and a cafe, and whilst it is okay, it doesn't really pull either off (in my opinion).

We had booked a table for three, 'H' being traditional wholesome foodie we chose the Queens. Good choice. A good pub menu with everything being home made (please write that on the menu, it will encourage sales). The service was lovely and fun. The food was wholesome and very enjoyable, thank you. (I am a semi-retired Michelin Chef so I... More

Two lots of fish and chips £7 each and scampi and chips £8.50. Bad food, sign outside is misleading 'freshly cooked to order' fish was frozen portions and not fresh. Small portion of chips were hand cut and nice at first but after a while were soggy and greasy, peas overcooked. Also wanted to charge us an extra 20p for... More

We visited the Queens when we were staying in Lyton, as the only pub we could find, it should have lots of potential, but it feels a bit run down. The beer wasn't great, the food was just about OK, although both steaks we had were more well done rather than medium, and very chewy. The staff were nice, but... More
