Stopped by the Beggar's Roost for lunch during a beautiful woodland walk from Lynton/ Lynmouth. A lovely Exmoor Inn with a welcoming atmosphere and pleasant aspect. I had the fishfinger sandwich and my wife had buttermilk chicken sandwich. Both were served with nice, spicy fries....More

Excellent find on the A39. Pleasant welcome for lunch. If more than 2 recommend booking. Nice, refreshingly limited, well priced menu. We chose the scampi - delicious. Service faultless.

Lovely fresh cooked food, you can tell the chef is good at what he does, we only wanted to eat there 1 night but returned a second night, staff very friendly, very cosey by the fire in the Winter.

Food was very nice if rather over generous portions. not a huge choice. Friendly service The down side was the loos which both mens and ladies were not clean and this has rather put us off returning.

We ate here twice while on holiday. We popped in for lunch after a horse riding trip across the moors and for dinner on our last night. Both times the food was lovely.

I stopped here on a walk and discovered an excellent country pub. I would normally only have one pint at lunch, but their proprietary was so good that I had to have a second.
