Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recently reviewed as visited for a family meal in April and received frozen food, long waits and missing menu items. We revisited again as the general manager reached out and refunded part of our meal in a gift voucher to try them again. Sadly the...second experience mirrored the first . 4 of us visited this time and I must say starters arrived hot and delicious. Mains arrived 2 of the 4 were frozen and had to be sent back. These were simple prawn skewers. They got sent back and by the time they were returned the remaining party had finished their food. We there were missing menu items again. We did speak to the manager at the time and advised again of the situation. Serving hot food in a restaurant should be easy. Seemingly not. We won't return.More

Family meal, really warm and cosy atmosphere as always. Went for new menu option “skewers” I had the halloumi and my partner had the Moroccan chicken which we both thoroughly enjoyed. For dessert we all enjoyed the chocolate brownie which was lovely! However, our drinks...that came with the minature brownies arrived after we had finished and had to remind the waiter for them. Overall, great service and lovely food. Will definitely be back againMore

Looks great now newly refurbished and staff very friendly and attentive. But I won’t be rushing back. Drinks expensive and sadly the food was disappointing. I ordered the garlic king prawn skew, literally no taste of garlic ar all and didn’t look appetising when brought...out (see photo) the dish was not worth £18! Desert fruit was clearly frozen fruit not fresh. Bottle of Pinot £25! Or £10 large glass!! Over priced and underwhelming. DisappointedMore

Went for lunch with friends and sadly not impressed. I’d heard reports about long waits for food and many menu items not being available but we’d already booked so thought we’d give it a try. Garlic mushroom starter was cold, the mains were lukewarm and...the dessert I requested wasn’t available - the waitress even said “it’s never been available. We keep ordering it, but it never comes in”. Very expensive for what it is. I was due to go with family next week, but we’ve cancelled the booking.More

Awesome server called Ryan, really friendly and took the time to really speak to us, best service I’ve had in years. We had 2 x 4 year olds and we would put in a quiet corner away from others which was perfect. Thankyou

It seems the recent refurbishment cost has been added now to the cost of the meals and drinks. It is a pub after all and certainly NOT fine dining. The lamb dish was fatty, ok, but at £28 was overpriced for what it was. A...large glass of wine is now over £11, crazy when you can buy the same full bottle in the supermarket for less than a large glass. We went with a discount voucher and will only return with another voucher. I can see why they are not too busy with these prices being very off putting! Top restaurants in town are certainly cheaper!!More

Visited on the evening of the 30th of March 2024. Very lively and busy restaurant and this was our visit back after the renovation and updated menus. Tried to order the chicken skewers, skewers are a new addition to the menu and it would appear...they are proving popular as they had run out. Our server Ryan helped us with our order and his professionalism and knowledge shone through. We all enjoyed our food (Fish(Whale) and Chips proved popular) and yes the prices have gone up but this did not seem to impact on the number of diners present.More

Love the Jack Rabbit guaranteed decent food and fabulous service. We visited for the pre-opening dinner and everything was spot on. The food was great, as was the drink selection. Craig the manager leads by example and is a top guy and we were super...lucky to have the wonderful Tom as our server. So glad it’s back open can’t wait to visit again especially in the summer to try out the newly refurbished beer garden.More
