We booked in advance for lunch and had a table with a fantastic view. The waiting staff were very efficient and helpful and all five of us (two adults, three teenagers) thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we chose and it was reasonably priced. We would definitely go back.

My first visit to this Spanish tapas bar was a lovely experience. The staff were very good at advising us about the respective dishes and the portions were more generous than I have experienced in other tapas bars. The views are extraordinary and the location quite unique. Don't be put off by the rather strange entrance - it's worth it when you get seated!

Tried for the first time under the government help out scheme. Despite the pared down menu had a great time and will be back. Staff friendly and good service. Food was great though the ham and cheese croquets could have done with another one or two for the price (3 between 2 was a bit odd) . Be aware steep stairs if you are infirm.

First thing you’ll see when you get there is a sign that says that loos are for guests only, then you go down this ugly (not very clean) staircase, to then enter this blank dining room that looks like a canteen. We should’ve Turner around and left at that point…
We ordered sangria as we were in a tapas restaurant, big mistake, it was lemonade with a splash of red wine very disappointed.
Food wasn’t worth it either, calamari were chewy and chorizo was so greasy it gave me stomach ache for the rest of the day.
Unfortunately service was poor as well, at a certain point a blonde lady that seemed to be a manager or owner walked into the dining room and she looked like she couldn’t care less about that place and that made me realise where all the issues come from.
But if you only care about a nice view, you can give it a go, the restaurant faces the ocean and the view from the balcony is stunning, what a waste of a location.

We went to Maritimos for our engagement party (only 5 people). Once we ordered our food and drink we was brought out an extra dish which we did not order and had to prove this.
Five minutes later we was again brought out another dish which we did not order and again had to prove this.
Also during the meal we thanked the waitress a number of times for such lovely food and had no response.
My parents had also bought an engagement cake and when it is brought out we was not offered any plates or cutlery or even a congratulations.
At the end of our meal we received the bill to find we had been over changed. We double checked and found out we had been charged for my son's drink (suppose to be included in the meal) and also changed twice for our drinks (even though they were suppose to be 2 for 1.
We was extremely disappointed for our first time at the restaurant as we felt we was given low quality customer service and no effort was put in to make our evening special especially as it was such a special occasion which we feel has been ruined.

We booked a table for 7.30pm, arrived in good time, shown to our table by an apparent inexperienced waitress.
Ordered our food almost immediately along with drinks. Chased foot at 8pm to be told that the chef was stressed and too busy.
The restaurant was nearly full, food arrived at 7.45, the so called paella was about as authentic as a ready meal, the sea bass was cold, we were served chicken instead of chorizo, so called lightly dusted octopus was heavily coated and probably frozen pre-prepared mass produced muck.
The scallops were also cold and the whole meal was inedible, it was sent back just as the chorizo arrived.
We paid for our drinks and left.
This venue isn’t authentic, the waiting staff are inept and it’s awful.
I’m sure people love a party there, but it’s not a good food venue for tapas.

I was a bit nervous about trying this place because I LOVE tapas and if it’d been bad I would’ve been so disappointed. However, it definitely exceeded my expectations. I had a beautiful glass of Rioja and all the tapas came out quickly but perfectly cooked. My favourite dish was definitely the chorizo in red wine and honey, every mouthful was savoured! well done to the lovely staff as well doing a stellar job during difficult times in the wake of COVID-19. Would definitely visit again if back in Plymouth.

The table was dirty on arrival and not wiped down. We were early and they accommodated us which was good. We were told there was only one member off staff so there was a bit of a wait, which we appreciated. However, 1 hour and a half later we asked where our food was as we had nothing brought to us yet and we were very hungry. We also weren’t asked if we wanted any drinks or if everything was ok when we were waiting all this time. We thought we had been forgotten about entirely as we did not see any waiting staff for the hour and a half we sat waiting (with empty glasses) The food was ok. Salad was very tasty, and the prawns, but given the waiting time we wondered if it was worth the overall price. Not sure if we’ll be going back sadly.

We decided to go to Maritimo for lunch on our first outing in over a year. We managed to park close by and you can pay for parking using an app so nice and easy. Be aware there are a lot of steps down into this venue so it may be worth checking with them if there is any disabled access.
We hadn’t booked but were fortunate to get a table outside on a beautiful sunny but breezy day. The menu is straightforward as you simply order a few tapas dishes and a drink or two and then order a few more when you are ready. We spent a good 2 hours enjoying some of the best food we have ever had. My partner has been a frequent visitor to Spain and said it was as good as or even better than anything he has had there.
We had sea bass, prawns, scallops, meatballs, patatas bravas, calamari and sardines. Everything was so fresh. The flavours were so different in each dish and we even asked for extra bread to mop up the sauces & dressings. The scallops were sweet and perfectly cooked, the sea bass skin crispy, meatballs in a rich spicy tomato sauce, calamari was crispy not chewy. I could not find a single fault with anything we had. It all tasted like it had been cooked with love and we were made so welcome with warm friendly service. I can’t wait to go back again!

I visited for lunch with my family including two coeliacs. The restaurant could not have been more helpful and careful with the chef coming over twice to check what we had ordered met our dietary needs. Some of the best tapas I have eaten in UK, all served with care and attention and wonderful panoramic sea view.

We nearly walked past this wonderful place a couple of weekends ago. We originally wanted just coffees. We ended up staying 3 hours. The staff just amazing, the music, the view from the terrace second to none. We then ordered a variety of dishes between the four of us, and every single dish was so tasty and beautifully presented. Our Son and girlfriend are in Plymouth for a few years. This place will become a local when we visit. So rare to get everything right in one place. Thank you.

Booked a table via Facebook, very helpful and friendly. When we arrived it was sunny so we asked to swap to outside, no problem.
Wine is all Spanish but what I ordered was delicious. Nice mocktail selection too!
We ordered a lot of tapas dishes, they come when they are ready and not all at the same time, I gave no issue with it. The view is gorgeous and we just wanted to sit and relax so it was great. All the dishes we had were delicious! They had a reduced menu due to covid but we had no trouble ordering. Great prices too!
Only issue we had was that 1 dish didn’t arrive and there were no staff around to inform, when someone cleared the table I told them abc they took it off the bill.
Service was a little slow but it was eat out to help out, sunny, summer holiday so I get it! The waiter was fantastic! He apologised for the wait each time, checked in on us and was just generally lovely.
We’ll definitely be back!

We visited at lunchtime and wow, what a great place.
The staff were not only lovely but very efficient.
The food is great, with something for everyone.
At lunchtime they have a great menu with any three dishes for fifteen pounds.
I had calamari, mushrooms and paella.
My family had lots of other dishes and everyone agreed it was all delicious.
The restaurant looks out over the bay and has stunning views with a balcony which would be great in summer.
They have a good selection of drinks and cocktails as well.
All in all we loved it and will return.

We visited Maritimo for my birthday last night.
I phoned in advance as I was not sure what time we would arrive and they were very accommodating.
We arrived early and were greeted with a warm welcome.
The food was not particularly speedy at arriving but we enjoyed a cocktail whilst waiting and it was well worth the wait. Every dish was delicious and plenty of it.
I would recommend Maritimo and we will return.

Sometimes seafront restaurants don't seem to make much effort with their food, as people will book anyway because of the location and views. This definitely is not the case with Maritimo where we had a table overlooking the bay, and excellent food. The tapas was some of the best that I've had outside of Spain - everything cooked fresh, and very well presented. Service was very good - there was a bit of a wait on the food, but we were kept informed. Maritimo is not suitable for someone who can't manage stairs, as there are two or three flights down from street level. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend it, and it'd be our first pick next time we're in Plymouth.
