I organised a New Years Eve walk around Bow Creek and booked a table for 10 friends at The Watermans for NYE lunch. The staff could not have been more accommodating, looking after people arriving at different times. The ordering process was polite and informative and the food was just perfect. Many thanks to the Watermans waitress and chefs.

I haven't been to this lovely old pub for near on 30 years after the landlord charged me £1 for an empty plate for my toddler. Well the family went back on Boxing Day and what a wonderful surprise. The interior is delightful with lots of nooks and cranny's, big sofas and tables to suit all group sizes. Excellent service... More

We were a group of 12 people and everyone had a great Sunday lunch. I had the beef - two good sized slices, plus various vegetables including a lovely shredded leek. The roasters were nice and crisp and the yorkshires not overcooked like at so many places. The food came out relatively quickly and was nice and hot. The Palmers... More

We ate here on a Sunday evening in October. We rang ahead first as several local pubs were not cooking meals on Sunday evening. When we arrived we were the only table eating in the pub but received excellent friendly service and the food was great. Large portions and homemade. A good selection of vegetarian options which was important to... More

Pulled the old girl into the car park on a dark October evening in lashing rain. Had to make haste from Haller Towers for reasons which prudence and diplomacy preclude my relating to you suffice to say that an evening in was not a viable option. So after a short amble through a gloomy dusk I happened upon this hostelry.... More

Excellent location, very helpful staff and great food let down by the quality of the accommodation. The location is superb and riverside beer garden a must (dippers seen on the river). The bar is cosy but the restaurant a let down in comparison with the rest of the pub (the breakfast room is much nicer though). The staff were extremely... More

A superb pub found by accident whilst returning from Dittisham. The Watermans Arms is located by a stream with a seperate garden next to it.We called for drinks as the lunch menu did not appeal to us.A 17th century pub, internally it has a lot of character,a decent pub garden and a childrens play area.Parking is located across the road as well... Heading down to Devon for a few days and fancied a nice roast, didn't know what to expect when we ordered a roast beef and gammon lunch but it was really nice and tasty. Very hot and served really quickly, all home cooked with very thick gravy, yummy. Only wish we had room for pudding

We have visited The Waterman's a number of times as staying guests (we first went there when it was just a pub/restaurant back in the 1980's). As many have said the location is very good albeit a little difficult to find first visit as it is down a narrow steep approach road where a few forget that up hill has... More

Superb location and outside eating area but we ate inside as it was a cool day. Good choice of roasts, well presented, well cooked and substantial. Service wes very good from a really friendly waitress. Good value, would return.
