I’ve been going to the Balti King for years and it is my favourite choice for a curry in the area. Love the vibe in there and Simon is a fantastic host. A good proper cosy curry house in the heart of Totnes. The takeaways...are consistent too. I would recommend: Chicken Pathia. It’s not too sweet and very rich in flavour. Ordered while we were out and about to pick up at 7.30pm on Sunday for a group of 8. Everything was available on time, and delicious. In fact there was so much food, it lasted us until the next day also. Great service, great food

Returned to the area to visit family and ordered take out. Pathia was delicious! Garlic Nan was just right and everyone was happy. All items were piping hot and tasty. There was enough for seconds the next day.

Visited the Balti King last week, an unusual building for an Indian restaurant but don't let that put you off. Being early in the week, the eat-in part of the restaurant was not very busy although they were much busier with takeaways. Despite this, service...was quick, staff were friendly, our poppadums were crisp and our meals delicious, with large portions. Very reasonably priced too, highly recommended.More

we had been put off even going IN to the Balti king because of the terrible messy ( dirty) window and unwelcoming entrance. Inside - like a Tardis - nice kind attentive staff, good food, reasonable value. very quiet. Could be MUCH busier if you...redesigned and cleaned up the entrance!!More

I use Balti King regularly I totally trust it High hygiene standards, quick preparation and the Paneer and Hot-Sour Dishes are tasty and filling - Love their lemon and garlic rice sides, too The staff are very personable, they take the time and trouble to...remember your name and recommend things for you, when you can't decide what you want. I also like that they are friendly without crowding you, so you feel you can go in there and have a proper chat with whoever you are with. I would not consider any other Indian food - it has to be The King!More
