On a very wet and windy February, with a welcoming smile we were ushered to our seats in this very smart, untypical Indian restaurant - all glass and chrome. OK, it was a Saturday night but the atmosphere was buzzing and the service was excellent by all the staff. The food was fabulous; we had 2 of the starter platters between 3 of us and it was plenty; the lamb skillet with lashings of spinach was excellent and the very unusual salmon dish was superb. Wine was sensibly priced and we were given a complimentary drink at the end of the meal. Definitely a place to revisit.

We've been to most of the Indian Restaurants in Westbourne and a few in Bournemouth. This is the best and a real surprise. We went just before New Year and had traditional curries, a chicken chilli and murgh Jalfrezi. There aren't too many on the menu. Portion sizes are not too large (good) but the flavours are delicious and in harmony with the meat. Both were fairly hot but in a subtle way. Tarka Dhal was rich and creamy and the nan bread fresh and crisp. It indicates that the kitchen has a lot more in them than just punting out the usual curry and I will be tempted to try one of the fish dishes next time. We didn't have wine but I did have a look at the List. Prices for reds are between £20 and £680! I don't know who buys a £680 bottle in an Indian restaurant but there seem to be quite a lot of expensive wines and not many in the £20-£40 bracket. I would suggest a rethink. Staff friendly and helpful and will definitely go again!

This is a lovely restaurant, food is very unique and an amazing variety of unusual dishes. Staff were very attentive and everything with the covid measures was so well organised. Excellent service! My only thing I would say is the chicken and lentil dish I had, felt like it was missing something. It was hard to see the lentils so just looked like chicken in sauce and felt it need rice with it, but was meant as a full meal. I feel it needs to have more ingredients in it if it is to be enjoyed as a meal on its own.

Came here one evening on the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. Although the food itself was lovely, the service was terrible. It felt like they couldn't get us out quick enough. We felt like we had to keep a fork in our hands at all times to avoid them trying to clear our table! We were made to feel very unwelcome. Won't not come back again nor recommend to anyone looking for a nice evening out.

Four of us had a meal at Indis 3 weeks ago. Overall I would say the place is distinctly average although the service is good. The main problem for us was the quality of the vegetarian dishes that we ordered. In each case the vegetable main courses consisted mainly of onion and cabbage with very few other vegetables. Not only that but the portions were miniscule so we were less than impressed. The other issue for us was the size of the rice portions which were the smallest that I have ever seen anywhere in the world. We were definitely not impressed with the quality or quantity of food provided and on that basis will certainly not be returning

Very disappointing overall , the duck roll starter comprised 3 (and I’m not exaggerating) micro sized spring rolls. The South Indian Chicken Curry was 2 chicken breast pieces with a bowl of sauce on the side and some congealed rice but the worst part was the chicken was raw throughout the centre. Luckily I had only eaten some of the outer corner and didn’t get sick. The staff were apologetic and the bill reflected removal of the chicken dish and a 50% discount on the remainder. Obviously basic kitchen culinary procedures are not being followed here and I would have to recommend avoiding this place.

Saw the other reviews here and tried to keep an open mind having already ordered. Really wish I had paid attention to what others said as this is by far the worst Indian food and standard of service I have ever experienced. Ordered a takeaway for collection- tandoori langoustines were a joke. £11 for 3 frozen prawns with tails on. They were stone cold and so mushy it was like having fish cat food in a takeaway box. Onion baji's were stone cold, dripping in oil and stale. They forgot our mushroom rice but fair enough, these things happen. My partners lamb pathia was swimming in oil on the top but the worst experience was being talked over and argued with when I called to complain. My partner drove back down and asked for a full refund which was processed without further question.

Just eaten at Indi’s for the first and last time. We like our breads thin so whilst ordering we politely enquired as to whether rotis (which weren’t on the menu) could be made available instead of chapattis (which were on the menu priced at £2.20). They said yes, we ordered four and only after the bill arrived did we realise that they had charged us FOUR POUNDS per roti. For reference, naans were £3.50. After the bill arrived, we politely enquired with the manager as to whether they had made a mistake. Alas, no, and he was quite within his rights to ask why we thought a roti should be the same price as a chapatti. So we paid the bill and left with the feeling that the manager wasn’t someone trying to please his customers like a normal restaurant but instead just trying to fleece tourists. There were eight other customers in on a Wednesday at 8pm so we’re obviously not the only ones to come to this conclusion. Aside from the roti debacle, the daal was OK, the rest of the food well below average and Dilli Haat a few doors down where we went two nights earlier was a far far better all round experience. Bill attached as evidence as we can’t quite believe it ourselves! We really don’t understand why he debased himself for (at most) £8!

We’d been missing Indi’s so it was great to see them reopen a few weeks ago with a takeaway service. Our first takeaway was a delight, well up to their usual standard. However, last night’s takeaway could have been produced by any run of the mill establishment. It was such a disappointment. The food was cold by the time it was delivered. The Naan was floury and undercooked. The side dishes, although flavoursome, were dry. Did the best chef have a night off? We will order from them again, in the hopes that this was a one off hiccup.

We had a delicious meal at Indi’s with a couple of unusual fish curries we’d never had anywhere before and which were totally delicious. The staff were really lovely and very kind. It was extremely busy because of it being a Saturday night but we were served quickly and our food didn’t take long to arrive. There were a few large tables which added to the atmosphere and the noise levels and at times it was difficult to hear! However it was a lively place and we really enjoyed our first night out in Westbourne!

Me and my partner we’re staying in Pool for a couple of days and decided to eat out. I did check trip advisor, and thought it didn’t look that bad so we gave a try. Within the first 10 minutes I new I had made a mistake. It was very busy, but sitting at the table felt that I was on the m25, so many staff walking constantly up and down looking for empty plates. I work in catering so I could see that they were trying to turn the tables around as quickly as possible so they could sit more in, which isn’t a problem but keep your staff to one or the other end, it was very off putting with waiting staff flying past you every second. The starter I chose they said wasn’t available, it was only duck spring rolls, you could get some of them from Iceland. The main course arrived, well my partners did while I had to wait for mine. Wasn’t impressed with the flavour of my food but understand that’s my preference. When we got the bill they had over charged us by £10. They were trying but you have it so wrong. Eating out is meant to be relaxing and chilling, I came away stressed. Needless to say we won’t be returning.

We first ate in the restaurant and really enjoyed the food. Since then we’ve ordered 4 takeaways and the food has been nowhere near the same quality. They’ve also got the order wrong twice and when we ordered earlier this week (Tuesday night), it took nearly 2 hours to arrive (ordered just before 7pm and it arrived at about 8:50pm!! We phoned several times and although they apologised for the delay that was it……no refund, no discount of our next order….nothing…..so there won’t be a next order. Judging from some of the other comments, the food quality concerns aren’t a one-off either

Great experience. Staff were attentive and accommodating to children (3 & 5) and a vegan diner. Food was brilliant and the menu provided a welcome change from basically choosing what sauce to have with your chicken... The seabass is highly recommended. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Bournemouth

Indi's is advertised as the 'best Indian restaurant in Westbourne', but we were extremely disappointed. 4 of us ordered a takeaway - the madras and dhansak were ok, but not amazing. The naan breads were very undercooked and doughy. The salmon shaslick was tasteless (and expensive). the veg curry and chef special bhaji were both tepid and horrible. I would NOT recommend.

Arrived two hours after we placed the order. Arrived one dish less than ordered and paid for. Chicken tikka tandoori was not great and missing yogurt sauce plus salad. Altogether a big disappointment. Third time that the delivery has taken a very long time so I think we shall be using a different indian restaurant for takeaway from now unfortunately.
