My wife, daughter and I dined here on Sunday, 25th October 2020 for a Sunday Roast. What. A. Find. It's difficult to know where to begin as our visit had so many positives, but I'll start by commending the staff we dealt with. Both Audrey and Mirek deserve high praise indeed. Nothing was too much trouble, we never felt rushed and they were both professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Mirek was able to advise on the relative merits and flavours of the selection of on-site brewed beers. I eventually started with a 'Flight' of beers (3x selection) and then settled on a pint of the amazing Tropical IPA. All three of us had a roast. I had the three meat roast, my wife had the butternut squash and lentil filo parcel and my daughter had the children's roast (although the portion size would have satisfied an adult too). They were all delicious. From the 'crispy on the outside, soft on the inside' roasties to the sweet parsnips, we couldn't find fault with anything. The meat was succulent and the portion sizes were very generous. I also thought the prices were very competitive too, especially when the quality of the food was considered. My wife and daughter left enough room to sample the Chocolate Fondant Dessert, which is a kinda sweet variation of a fondue, which the hot cheese replaced with molten chocolate and the pieces of dipping bread substituted with mini donuts, profiteroles, marshmallows and strawberries (yes, it is as good as it sounds!). I'm already making plans to revisit during Feb/Mar 2021 to partake in one of their Brewery Experience days. The decor of the place was great too and if it wasn't for the weather we'd have love to have dined in one of the funky beach huts located in the courtyard. Also, the gents toilets have the most ingenious use of empty beer kegs that I've ever seen! The only disappointment was finding out this was a chain, but having none located near us in Banbury (but they do spread up the M1 corridor to Nottinghamshire). So in summary: If you find yourself in Bournemouth on a Sunday, do book yourself in for a Sunday Roast.

We decided to come here for dinner before the Monday Quiz as you were continuing an offer throughout September of the 25% off food. We were greeted at the door by a lovely lady who I believe is the manager, she always greets us with such enthusiasm and a smile. We ordered a burger each and they were cooked exquisitely by Martin, who after finishing his shift in the kitchen even popped by the table to ask how they were which I thought was a lovely gesture of someone who clearly takes pride in their cooking. Kat, Jon and Maria were on the bar, and as always were delightful with positive energy when delivering drinks to the table. We normally get the mini kegs and they're always equipped with the stock knowledge when we come in. The quiz was brilliant, a thoroughly enjoyable night overall. Thank you very much B+K Team!

We booked this place for new Year's Day! It was for 37 of each (adults and children). The foods was really good and service was impeccable! The orders were handled very well and served promptly. They also offered special dinner dairy free for a couple of children! All was very well organised. The pub itself is really nice and if we are to visit Bournemouth again for a New Year Gateaway, we will definitely go back. Mylene and the crew from Kent

We were so excited about eating here, the reviews were good and we were impressed by the beautiful exterior of the venue and the overall look. Such a shame we were so disappointed. We were met by a friendly lady with pink hair who showed us to our table despite us being 45 mins early. A promising start. She then gave us the most bizarre table - in the middle of a small corridor which meant we were tucked away and couldn’t see any of the interior or the rest of the restaurant. My partner said it was like we’d been put in the naughty corner. It was. Very weird place for a table. We then ordered drinks which took about 15 mins to arrive despite the bar not being busy at all, the two bartenders looked relaxed and chatting to each other. By no means rushed off their feet. The food arrived fairly quickly after ordering, but this is when it really went downhill. My partner ordered the chicken wings starter and when they arrived they were, what we can only describe as off! They smelt strongly of fish! He said they tasted weird too - trust me he’s had enough chicken wings in his time to know when something isn’t tasting right and these didn’t. It takes a lot for him to leave chicken wings and not eat them, he LOVES them, they’re his favourite but he’d had enough after one half of a wing. The waiter came and took them away, apologetic but claiming we were the only ones to have ever complained about them and that they’re cooked fresh daily on the premises. I’m sure that’s the case, but these particular wings were not edible. And to be honest, I couldn’t give a tiny rat’s butt that we’re the only ones to have complained... it’s not really the point is it?! Our mains then came and my steak was burnt on the outside to the point where all you could taste was chargrill and not in the slightest bit seasoned. Salad was wilted. The Mac n cheese side was lush though! Best part of the meal. My partner’s chips were again, totally unseasoned, and so swimming in oil they tasted like an actual fryer. He pushed his fork down on a chip and it squirted out oil. Bleurgh. The gammon steak was so thin it was more like a large hunk of bacon. The salt and pepper grinders we were given were both completely empty. I had to go find some salt and pepper myself, by which we were given two shakers that looked like they were straight out of the Greasy Spoon cafe up the road. The manager (I think it was the manager, he didn’t introduce himself) came over and again apologised for the wings fiasco but again reiterated that we were the only ones to complain. I’m not sure what they were trying to gain by telling us this repeatedly - that we should be grateful we’re the only ones to have had smelly, gone off meat? The service was great, no complaints really, nice waiter, manager was polite. Just a shame the food was so below par. We won’t be coming here again.

Thank you for your review. I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your table in our cosy corner. This is often loved by many as it is in a safe quiet corner of the restaurant, where you can escape from the rest of the guests. Had you requested a move I would have been happy to help. I apologise that you felt the food was not up to our normal high standards and I have addressed this with the Kitchen Manager to ensure this does not happen again.

Fabulous bar and dining. Came for a gin masterclass which was both great fun and informative. The manager greeted us very nicely when we arrived and chatted to us about other things to try including a brew day in March for women’s day which we are coming back for!! Had a lovely meal after -the beer can chicken was super tasty and we stayed to listen to the live music after. Excellent evening out that we will tell all our friends about.

I went by after work with my friend for dinner and a drink (as recommended by friends!). We chose to visit to support the 'eat out to help out', and the lovely staff member Simon, advised that the food may take a little longer to arrive than usual because of the high demand. The food came out still in a reasonable time and was delicious! Also an excellent choice of drinks! Would definitely recommend to EVERYONE.

I went to the pub with my brother to let him taste a nice English pub atmosphere, but we end up having a very bad pub experience. We ordered the Whole Chicken which was absolutely amazing, with the 3 sides. 2 of those were sweet potatoes. Before to order, I have asked the waiter servicing us if there was the extra charge for the sweet potatoes and he kindly said that being the Whole Chicken a main proper meal the extra charge would not be applied. Other than that, we also ordered 2 seasonal amber pints and a dessert. When asked for the bill I have noticed that actually the charging for the sweet potatoes was applied and when I let the waiter (different form the previous one) realized this, he said that was a mistake from the other waiter and they normally charge for it. After he went to discuss with his colleague (he probably did not believe what I was saying) he took it off from the bill. Moreover, from the menu it says that a discretionary 10% servicing will be add with table from 6+ people. We were only two. So I asked to remove it. After that, I finally paid for the bill that was already edited twice. Unfortunately it is not finished here. On the way out, I have noticed something else. I was charged extra for the beer that we had. The menu was pricing a different price for what they have billed. When I went to ask for further explanation the waiter by the name Javier in a very rude way said that the price of the beer was that one on the bill and not that one showing on the menu. The reason was that the head house updated the price the previous day, but they did not updated the menu. Basically, kept selling things to the customers for lower price but billing more. Javier was very arrogant saying that it was not their fault and due to the fact that we already had the beers he could not do anything else. He did not care about the principles behind it, and he just left us saying he had enough and if I wanted I could come the day after. Absolutely shocked by his not professional way to treat a client. He also said: "if you want you can make a complaint to the head house". I have asked in that moment what was his name and roughly said: "You can find it at the bottom of the bill". Of course I will make one, mentioning him. Absolutely disgusting treatment. Finally, Monica, member of staff, after having heard the conversation, in a more appropriate way, with respect and kindness, approached me apologizing, and immediately offered a refund for the inconvenience and the treatment. Monica was polite and professional as a customer would expect to be treated. A part the waiter by the name of Javier, the food and the beers were absolutely amazing. It is a shame that a place with such a good reputation can loose points in this way.

We received a voucher from family at Christmas. We came out for a roast dinner. We were sorely disappointed. The man that accepted us in was very patronising. When we got our food the brocoli was raw. We asked if they could boil it a little longer and they came back with another batch of raw brocoli. The table staff were very apologetic. Had we not paid for our food up front we wouldn't have been happy to pay for it as it was a clearly a microwaved meal.

We booked a large table for 10 at the weekend and showed up to find a relaxed atmosphere in a popular and busy brewhouse, the staff were friendly but unfortunately couldn't accommodate us immediately (no problem, we were 35 mins early, looking for a beer) when we returned we were seated close to the bar and ordered from their extensive range of in house beers. The waiter took our order and had a bit of a nightmare confirming the order and getting the food to us in a consistent and timely manner, it took 90 mins to actually get the majority of the main courses although some arrived with the starters nearly an hour before. The manager was fantastic and discounted our bill even though we merely pointed out the situation rather than complaining, as it was obvious they were very very busy, so really we couldn't ask for more in response to the issue. The food was incredible and could not be praised higher, fantastic all round. Thank you to the staff for a great meal that set up our night out!

I visited a few weeks ago during lunchtime which was extremely quiet. We ordered food quickly through the QR code which took around 35 minutes to come. Half my order was missing so queried this with a member of staff who just shrugged it off, so I asked if the rest of my order could be made? (2 sides of fries) She said she would talk to the kitchen and bring it over. We had finished our meal and still no sign of the rest of the food or staff. I spoke to the same lady who told me the kitchen was not making the remainder of our order, which I couldnt seem to understand why. Seeing as we had ordered and paid through the website I asked if we could have the missing food refunded and she said she wasnt sure?? I spoke to manager called Simon who said he could refund it for me but oddly enough could give me no proof of refund but ensured me it would be back in my account the same day. Suprise suprise I still have not recieved it to this day. Not worth the hassle of chasing up a couple of quid although the lack of pretty much everything will result in me never returning.

We booked a table a few days in advance as all online reviews said the Sunday roast was very good. Unfortunately for us this wasn’t the case as when we arrived we were told they had run out of Yorkshire puddings. We accepted this and continued our order. However, the waiter then came back to say the kitchen had ran out of roast potatoes! Really ??? This restaurant states it serves roast dinners all day ...well not on this day ! The best thing we had was the American pale ale. I wouldn’t bother going here at all ..really not worth it .

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry that we sold out of Proper Roasts 20 minutes prior to last orders yesterday. It is an incredibly popular choice. I believe that your party were very late for your booking time and had you been punctual there would have been Roasts available as the table served just prior to you enjoyed the last 6 portions. I believe you did enjoy an alternative roast chicken meal with your tasty Beer. Hopefully you will try us again, perhaps a little earlier?

We arrived without booking @ 3-3:30 Sunday, to be met with a roll of the eyes when we hadn’t booked, to then be eating over 20 minutes apart, my friends had eaten before I even had my food delivered to the table even though ordered through one device on their new QR code. Poor kitchen service. Discovered it was due to the app/website ‘Human error’ on our part, just take the orders yourselves, we all are using one device to insure it comes at the same time so we can’t all proof check it. Putting the customer in charge of organisation instead of the restaurant... not good service

Decided to give a Sunday roast a try. I am really fussy with my roast potatoes and the nailed then. The beef was nice and pink and tender, the Yorkshire puddings were massive light and fluffy. If you want a high quality roast then book here and to top it off the brew their own beer witch tastes great too. The team where really quick at serving us. Thank you for the lovely meal. I will be telling everyone.

Welcome was unfriendly and abrupt by woman with spotted dress. Took to table without pointing out the hand sanitizer and I'd just travelled by public transport. Given table in walkway which was strange when we had booked and during social distancing. Patrons walking by within less than 2 foot seat never mind 2 metres. Moved to outside. Nice table but told to read instructions as no table service. Friend ordered food on app. The only good thing about our night was the lovely drinks waitress, not sure if Canadian or US. Food was poor. Warm mac and cheese, 2 chicken legs not half chicken as ordered. 1 inch of sauce in can size dispenser was cold. Nobody bothered to ask if everything ok. Money already taken from card when we ordered so they really didn't care. Will not return or recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review Our hand sanitiser stations are both in view of guests entering the premises and outside of the toilets for your ease of use. All our tables have been measured to be over 1 metre apart, in line and situated within government guidelines. I believe our host moved you to an outdoor table at your request and explained how to order from our online system which is the recommended and safe way to place an order from the garden.
