My wife and I had the pleasure of having one of the very best experiences we've ever had at a restaurant..from the moment we entered, we were greeted by a very warm, friendly lady, which set the tone for the rest of the evening.
The ambience and decor had a comfortable, contemporary look and feel..the menu was varied with excellent options, making it difficult to chose what to eat as it all looked so good!
The food was delicious, presentation was faultless, and portion sizes just right.
We felt it was good value for money too.
Although we had a few different serving staff attend to us through our dining experience, they all excelled in their duties, being courteous, respectful, professional and friendly.
Thank you for a wonderful experience. It's a shame more places don't have the same high standards as yourselves.
Best wishes,
Ed

Dicky’s is,without doubt, the best restaurant in Bournemouth, actually the whole of Dorset!
We were a party of 5 and had booked for lunch to celebrate my mums 91st birthday , we have been to Dicky’s on numerous occasions and have never had a bad experience. The welcome is always warm and friendly, the menu has something for everyone, the service is attentive without being intrusive and the atmosphere is relaxed and convivial! I wish I could dine here every week it’s so fabulous.
Clearly it’s also a great place to work because they seem to have had the same outstanding team of people working there since they opened. Big thanks for making my mums birthday so special, she had a lovely time! Anyone who needs to know how to run a great restaurant should visit Dicky’s to see how it’s done, they make something exceptional look effortless, and that is a rare thing these days!

We had a delicious meal the weekend before Christmas. Very nice atmosphere in the restaurant, and the staff were all very nice. My son is coeliac and they had a separate allergen labelled menu which made ordering gluten free much easier. They also adapted a meal for my son to make it gluten free so he was very happy too. Great food, I will definitely return.

My husband and I and my parents were in Bournemouth for the first time, to watch my sisters’ kids compete in the national surf life saving championships. We booked this place only 48 hours in advance and weren’t sure what to expect - turned out to be a very good choice.
The staff without exception were very welcoming and ensured we were well looked after. The food and wine is fairly priced and there’s a pretty extensive food menu. Sea bream was a special the evening we went - it was fresh, perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious.
All the food we had was tasty and hearty - it was a good choice for a family get together.

We have been to Dicky’s many times and are never disappointed. We visited again today for Sunday lunch, one of us enjoying fillet steak and chips instead of a roast. The food was outstanding - full of flavour, high quality, perfectly cooked - and the service was great, we will absolutely be visiting again. This is a wonderful restaurant to have in our local area.

Attended a milestone family birthday party - an 80th - with guests ranging in ages from 20 somethings through to 80 so quite a mix!!
Had all pre-ordered our menu preferences so that was useful and speeded things up. To be fair the service and food was very good with everyone eating their various courses simultaneously which always helps. The waiting staff were very attentive and made the whole experience trouble free - a very enjoyable afternoon and early evening dining experience. Well done Dicky’s!!!

Warm welcome and really couldn't fault the politeness of the staff at all which created a nice vibe. Unfortunately the food fell very much short, the pigs in blankets were bland as was my pork belly starter, this was also very much over cooked, I did let the waitress know when asked if it was okay but nothing was done to rectify it. I imagine even if the pork belly had not been over cooked it would still be quite a bland dish. My main of faggots was fine but Def needs veg adding to it so I ordered the tender stem broccoli, the ends of this were so burnt it had a fowl taste and was inedible, I was also without a drink throughout most of my main course as it hadn't been put through, The positives were my partners scotch egg and steak were both very nice dishes and I had a nice cocktail off the specials menu. for this and the service we paid in full and left a generous tip. All in all though it has very much slipped from last time I ate here and we probably wouldn't return in a hurry.

Fabulous meal. The husband had the Slow Braised Lamb Shank. The meat fell off the bone and was cleverly served with braised red cabbage to add a sweet hint. The dauphinois was butter soft. I opted for the Dutch Steak, served pink (yum) with a Dutch gravy, fries and bread - for mopping up. The steak was sublime, I hardly needed a steak Knife. I wasn’t too keen on the gravy when mopped up with the bread but it didn’t detract from the truly delightful steak. We finished off with a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and Sticky Toffee pudding,
The staff are very friendly - shout out to Lynne - and the whole atmosphere is relaxed and friendly whilst also running like a well oiled machine. We will definitely return.

I visited with my husband and son ahead of a gig at the O2. We were welcomed by Lynne who remained our waitress for the evening. Her service was above and beyond and she knew what we needed to enhance our experience without us needing to ask. All of our food choices were excellent, pork starter and curried cauliflower soup were delicious. The Moules are the best we have ever had, highly recommended. The faggots were truly excellent and the bread pudding and crème brûlée went down a treat. There is truly nothing negative I can say about this experience. I only wish we lived closer to be able to visit more often. This restaurant is a true go to if you are in the area. Hats off to the owners, chef and staff. To get this level of dining and service is truly outstanding. Thank you all!

We recently dined at Dicky's and had another fantastic experience. This time, we opted for the roast dinner, which was delicious—tender meat, crispy potatoes, and all the classic trimmings, perfectly done. Our server, Lynne, was exceptional, providing attentive and friendly service that made the meal even more enjoyable.
On a previous visit, we tried the Dutch beef steak, which was also excellent, but this roast dinner, combined with Lynne’s outstanding service, really made for a memorable evening. Highly recommend!

First visit and won’t be our last.
Ventured to the other side of town, as we tend to eat in Westbourne and the Poole area and were pleased we had made the effort. We had a Sunday roast which was great. The food arrived piping hot and piled high. A great selection of vegetables, sprouts, baby carrots and yummy red cabbage as well as roast potatoes and an enormous Yorkshire pudding.
For pudding we shared the bread and butter pudding which was also delicious.
Staff were very friendly but professional. We will definitely be back to try some of the other tempting dishes on the menu.

We were staying for five nights locally and so booked Sunday lunch at Dicky's. I had the roast beef and my husband had the pork. Both were excellent and so we booked for dinner in the week too. Dinner on the Wednesday was also fantastic...I had the fillet steak and my husband had the ballontine of chicken...again both dishes were excellent.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming and one of the owners was serving behind the bar on the Sunday...a very friendly chap.
We highly recommend eating out at Dicky's and will be eating there again when we are back in the area.
Also, we found the prices to be really good - £25 for fillet steak is very reasonable indeed!

First time visiting and what an incredible experience! I started with the whitebait, which was perfectly crispy. Then, I had the monkfish, which was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious.
Lin, our server, was amazing! She was attentive, friendly and made sure everything was spot on throughout the evening. Her recommendations were perfect and she really added to the overall experience. Thank you!
I’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend.

A prompt welcome to our table, an offer to take our coats, comfortable seats, good spacing between tables, with cutlery clean and shiny. A great start to an excellent meal.
Being a Monday, the restaurant wasn't very busy, but had a nice atmosphere.
We each enjoyed different dishes at Dicky's; flavoursome, well presented and generous portions. I'd loved to have seen some free-range chicken/meat on the menu.
We enjoyed desserts, chocolate-free choices were a bit limited, but being freshly made, they were able to adapt a couple for us. Service was efficient, slightly formal, but attentive throughout. We'd definitely return when next staying in Southbourne.

Six of us visited for a birthday dinner and we were delighted with our experience.
Whilst the food was excellent, with a great choice, the atmosphere and the fabulous service was what made our evening. Our waitress for the evening was wife to the chef and she was a delight - full of smiles, always cheerful, friendly, helpful and she definitely made the experience special. Thank you so much. We will recommend to all our friends and will definitely be back.
