Happy little accident...

Stumbled upon Flirt whilst searching for somewhere for breakfast on our recent girls trip to Bournemouth. And what a happy little accidental find! The decor is just amazing, so quirky and you can tell much thought has been put into the little details. The food was lovely, opted for the 'little flirt' which was a small full English and you could tell everything was freshly made, decent herby chunky sausages...perfection! To be honest though it was the welcome we received when entering that prompted me to write this review, the manager/owner (I'm assuming?) was so warm and friendly and instantly made you want to return. I'm just sad we didn't get time to pop back of an evening for some cocktails and wine! Also big thanks for the bus tour reccommendation we had a blast the next day!

Great independent and we’ll be back!

Flirt has new lease of life. It’s fresh, funky and super cool. There’s a relaxed vibe and wherever you look there’s something fun and interesting to take in. From the plant wall to the piano in the corner to glitter ball hanging in the corner to the Art Deco cabinet with a large antique wooden radio sat on it. This is a result of the new owner who is dynamic, friendly and loves what he does. He bought Flirt during the pandemic and has really made it his own. He gave us the warmest welcome and was genuinely interested in where we were from and what we did. Plus, what we thought of the menu and the day’s special which in this case was a fish goujon bun with fresh mint mushy peas, fries and homemade slaw on the side - absolutely delicious. Continuing the theme, the food is great with a range of light bites that are inexpensive but filling. They have a generous selection of home made cakes worth trying too! One of the people in our group was also delighted to discover that Flirt have beer on tap which was a welcome surprise for a cafe. Staff were warm, friendly and very attentive, genuinely caring if everything was OK and ensured we were enjoying ourselves. The new owner has really been making the space his own and has introduced various weekly events and socials, from quizzes to what sounded like fantastically camp bingo evenings. Pop in for a cuppa and a slice of cake or stay and have a meal with a pint or two. There’s also plenty of outside seating for a warm spring and hot summer. It’s great to see an independent cafe thriving post pandemic and we’d encourage you to support it! You won’t be disappointed.

Best Cafe Ever

came across this cafe which didn’t look our style while hungover and soaking wet from rain, welcomed us in with 10/10 service and completely proved our poor judgement wrong, food was like gods gift and cured our hangovers and we left with smiles on our faces. Definitely worth a try as it’s now a must visit everytime i visit bournemouth. (pancakes were one of the greatest things to enter my mouth)

Good coffee but over charged

I ordered two cappuccinos and was charged £6. At the table there was a menu were they were priced at £2.80. When they were brought to our table by the same girl who took my money and made the coffee I queried the price. She said the tills had changed but the menus had not. I popped in a week later and checked the prices from the menu. Cappuccinos were £2.90. Maybe it was a genuine mistake, maybe it wasn’t. The coffee was good and it was my first visit under the new management, unfortunately the experience, while a poultry sum, irked me.

Fun Venue

Really nice place. Had an informal business meeting here which was much more enjoyable than being in an office. Plug points available and decent coffee. We stayed for lunch and really enjoyed the breakfast (which they serve until 2pm) Played some real 90s bangers too! Kept stopping talking work to have a reminiscence!

Super family lunch with top service

What a find, so close to chains and fast food, for our day in Bournemouth. A single dad with three kids is not an easy unit to please but dishes were created to suit us and the kids’ desires. All the kids ate up promptly. Excellent smoothies and milkshakes too, we were soon scooting back into the winter gardens for more autumn fun.

Vegan Frankfurter

A cute looking cafe. The interior has colourful furniture, art and a 70s retro look throughout, plus outdoor tables. There's a small menu, but with a couple of vegetarian options. The "Flirt Dog" looked the most substantial of all the options, so I went with that. It's basically a vegan version of a frankfurter with a portion of french fries. The french fries were already seasoned and had a sprinkling of crispy fried onions. I didn't even need to season it, so kudos for that. The frankfurter was really nice, the vegan sausage had a firm texture and went well with the mayo and ketchup the chef had added. I did think that the meal with quite pricey, even in a touristy city like Bournemouth. The cafe also mutes the lighting after about 8. I didn't much like eating in the dark, but that's just me.

An amazing cafe

I adore coming to this cafe, every single time we've been my partner and I have always loved the food and the warm welcome we always receive from the staff and owners. Today my partner even said it was "the best chicken, bacon and waffle he's ever had, even better than America". The food is always spot on. I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Bournemouth, it's a lovely cafe to go to with anyone really and it's dog friendly.

A bright inviting environment. A great friendly service with fresh food. In an area populated with many eateries this is a very good option. And there is a chap working there who could have been an extra on Club Tropicana Wham video. Great customer relations and service.

Fantastic cafe with amazing service. The owner clearly loves what he is doing and provides great customer service. The food was fresh and tasty, good portions and served quickly. As a party of 12 they accommodated us as soon as we came in and were super attentive. Would recommend in a heart beat and return every day if I could.

Flirt is Back!

This was my first visit since the new owners took over. In the days of Rob and Peter I was a regular. Went downhill after they left, uninviting and dirty. Now it's fabulous again. Lovely fresh decor and super friendly staff. Great coffee. Please advertise the vegan options though as not apparent on the menu. Will defo be a regular again.

Great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and lovely people.

Fab little place! Great food and a lovely team of people. We stayed in Bournemouth for 2 nights and had breakfast here both mornings. The food was really nice and the menu had a decent amount of options for our dairy-free (and very fussy) child, along with having gluten-free options too. They also have games, playing cards, coloring etc scattered around that the kids can use, which made our mornings slightly more chilled! Great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and lovely people, we will definitely return on our next visit to Bournemouth.

Amazing customer service

I got a chicken burger with friends and an iced caramel latte at the cafe. Both were really good and filling. The owner of the cafe is extremely friendly and instantly made me feel welcome. The cafe is very aesthetic, with old jams playing in the background and nice decorative pieces inside the cafe.

Best place in Bournemouth!

Wow, what a place! We used to go to Flirt many years ago, and it was a great spot then but even better now! Lovely atmosphere, charming staff and such good food and drinks - our daughter couldn’t get over the milkshake! The team there were so friendly and helpful, especially as I have some allergies so it was great to feel reassured about what was in our chosen dishes. We will be back!

Lovely cafe

This place went really downhill a few years ago and we stopped visiting so I was very apprehensive about going today but it was fantastic. Since I last went it’s had a complete overhaul. Still the same inclusive and friendly atmosphere, but a much more user friendly layout. Friendly staff, quick service desire being packed. Delicious food but beware the spicy fries are very spicy ( and yummy!)
