This place is our go to when we visit the area. It has fantastic breakfasts, great portions at a fantastic price but last week we visited for lunch. We were not dissapointed, amazing food, great service, thoroughly recommend

NowBamboo44. Service OK. Mixed up order. Which was two breakfast dishes. Got a bit surly when we were honest about our food. Took ages to get food on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Such a let down compared to the old Coffee Club. Avoid.
Very disappointed to find that the Coffee Club had changed hands. Sadly the amazing Daliesque paintings have been painted over (sacrilege) and replaced by the most bland decor imaginable making it akin to an outdated run of the mill cafe. 3 of us had very...poor food however my husband said his was quite nice, hence the two stars. No desserts were available which was very strange so we went home and had one there! We went on a Saturday evening and there were only 3 tables being used whereas before it would be packed, this is a real sign that the new owners need to have a serious rethink. Perhaps a smaller menu and a simple makeover including getting rid of the old fashioned tablecloths! We will not return.More
What a joy this little restaurant is, now under new management and known as 44 Bamboo. We came for a family lunch for Mother's Day. Staff were friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Even though the restaurant was packed, service was still quite quick. My...son is autistic and very limited in his diet but they were helpful in adjusting an existing dish for him (and he loved it). I had the salmon, it was a large portion and delicious, served in a tasty tomato based sauce. The desserts looked amazing, but as we'd all had a starter as well we just couldn't manage one! Such a friendly place with great food, we loved it.More
Under new management and did not disappoint. Food was fresh, delicious and competitively priced. We’d recommend the pasta, it was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite.
Terrible 😞 and disappointing, cheap food bad quality . They are buying the cheapest ingredients from Iceland and selling it with major profit, food was cold and badly cooked
I went with my friend to this restaurant as is close by my house and always looks very nice from outside. Unfortunately the service was really bad and cheap food… not restaurant food. very disappointed.
Pleased to see the rude and arrogant staff at the former Coffee Club have departed and replaced with excellent, professional and polite staff at yhe newly named '44 Bamboo'. I was so pleased that they allowed us in with our dog and we sat in...the quiet area at the back. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant was buzzing and full of diners, all of whom looked to be enjoying their food and experience. I had the traditional Turkish full breakfast which has lots of selection and was a very generous portion. My partner had a Full English (called a Full Panfry). He was impressed with the quality and taste of the sausages and bacon. Neither of us like to have cheap meat and we were both impressed. I would definitely recommend this place. I am not keen on the logo and interior styling, but other than that, we will definitely be going back.More
Now called 44 Bamboo and under new management. This used to be our restaurant of choice but, sadly, no longer. The Coffee Club had a very broad menu with dishes to suit almost every taste. The new one is quite restricted; not a salad to...be seen and very few dishes with any vegetables. On a carb restricted diet, the only dish that I could find to order was the salmon (or an expensive steak, but they were served with chips anyway). I ordered with some reluctance as it is served with a “tomato” sauce. Unfortunately, I was correct, salmon and a gloopy pink sauce don’t work well together. The salmon itself was cooked OK and the veg served were alright too. The sauce was over-salted as was another dish ordered. I was concerned that one of my companion’s burger was undercooked as I could clearly see blood on their bun and the inside was quite red. However, the person was satisfied with the taste. I would not have eaten a burger that rare without being certain of the quality of minced beef used! The restaurant had run out of orange juice (bear in mind that there is a supermarket about 50m away) and they have no dessert menu whatsoever. They have some cake which would be OK for serving with coffee. Aside from the food issues, they have also painted over the fantastic Dali-inspired murals which is very sad. They have repainted through out, but to a poor standard with paint trails down the windows for example. I am not sure what they perceive as their target market, but I cannot see the current version is going to appeal to their previously loyal fans. The warning signs for me were that it would normally be very difficult to get a table on a Saturday evening but there were few tables occupied. I think that a rethink is needed. Go away completely from the old menu if you want to establish a new clientele, rationalise it and have a specific focus. You cannot try to replicate the variety of the Coffee Club without the expertise of their chef!More
Awful, rubbish service, surly staff, food not as advertised and cold so had to have redone, second one was better, no dessert menu. Amazing service and food when it was Coffee Club which I thought it still was, So disappointing and will not revisit
The Coffee Club has clearly changed hands and has a different menu to what it was before. The new staff are lovely and the food is ok. The menu and the standard needs a little uplift to where it was before.
I went with my family and was enjoying time.look like is new owner.we eat salmon mussels carbonara and chicken. Very good quality and delicious food and big portion.i love this place.i definitely come back very soon
Very professional and friendly service, the food is outstanding, the best carbonara ever, chicken sea delicious and very delicious homemade cake. I reccomend 100%
Haven’t eaten at The Coffee Club for years, so until looking at reviews I wasn’t aware that it had changed hands. On looking at earlier reviews I think we were lucky with our group brunch of 8 as on the whole our experience wasn’t too...bad. Waitress looking after our table was very sweet (she even split the bill for us when she gave it so that we didn’t need to work out the split for each person) The menu is rather confusing, as others have mentioned it’s on flimsy bits of photocopy paper. We all ordered from the all day brunch menu & on the whole even with some changes they got the order correct. Food was okay not excellent but certainly okay & nothing to complain about. Would I visit again ? Probably not as there are plenty of other places to try is Westbourne. Would I recommend ? Again probably not.More
First time in what used to be a lovely restaurant until the present owners took over and as a result I will never go there again. My meal was not as described, a large part of it was missing completely. The waitress was not in...the least bothered when I told her, instead she tried to make me think I was mistaken until I asked for the menu to show her what the meal should have been, which she did to concede to but didn't even apologise, just talked away from the table and made no effort to rectify the situation.More
