Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have lunch at the Brewers regularly for the simple reason that the food is always excellent, the staff are all just lovely, it’s cozy (especially today with the fires lit and the Christmas decorations up) and it’s the best pub for miles around. And...it serves the most amazing treacle pud and ice cream sundae!More

We received a warm welcome at the Brewers Arms, I enjoyed a chicken curry and my wife an Italian Arancini, both of us enjoyed our lunch. The pub is tastefully furnished, and seems popular with the locals for food. The Brewers Arms is only 5...minutes off the A35 Dorchester to Honiton road, Why not break your journey here for a meal and refreshment -there is ample parking and (presumably in summer) an outside bar.More

We were a family of nine with three generations celebrating a 94th birthday. We chose this pub for location it was east reach for us all of us, but also after reading the great reviews on here. Now we can add our own positive review....We were bowled over by the beauty of the village and this amazing pub. The pub is very beautifully decorated and is light and airy , spacious and spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The garden area looked amazing with little chalet type huts for sitting outside and a lovely fire pit area and raised bed herb garden. It looked a great place for eating outside in the summer, but today it was mostly pouring down! The staff were all amazing and made our experience perfect. As for the food, well the roast dinners were the best we have all tasted , between us we had roast pork, beef and chicken and one had mushroom wellington which were all delicious and plentiful. One child had s small roast chicken and he cleared his plate saying he loved it and the smaller child had a children’s meal of chicken nuggets chips and peas followed by a scoop of delicious strawberry ice-cream. We all had desserts from warm chocolate brownie and chocolate sauce, sticky toffee puddings, brownie sundae and a selection of delicious ice-creams, all were delicious. We really enjoyed our visit to the Brewers Arms in beautiful Martinstown and can highly recommend it. Thank you to management and all staff and the chef for our lovely meal. XxxMore

I hesitated before writing this review because there's a danger that too many people discover this excellent pub and then it loses something when thousands of people visit. However, it's a gem that must be shared, so here goes..... After reading greatsome great reviews on...Tripadvisor, and in the search of somewhere different, we called in here on the off chance of getting a table for two on a Friday night. We were lucky to get the last table, so the key point here is: Make sure you book. For those who don't know Dorset roads, it's a little off teh beaten track, but better for it and well worth the trip out. The landlord (Ben) is an excellent host and the staff are very friendly, which is always a good sign. Some unusual keg beers amongst a wide selection of all drinks to suit all tastes. Olives with Feta and Bruscetta with Goats cheese to start. Burger and chips for one main sounds like your average pub food but the quality and taste were amazing, especially with beer battered onion rings and red coleslaw. The other main was linguini with mussels, prawns....amazing. After that, the only option was icecream. A great range to choose from, but being Westcountry folk, it had to include clotted cream - strongky recommended. All in all, probably one of the best pub meals in a very long time. Calling it pub food is probably not doing the quality and flavours justice but I'd recommend a visit tomorrow. Brilliant, keep up teh good work.More

My wife and I popped in today for a spot of lunch. We were warmly welcomed by very friendly staff. We orwre their brewers bugers with American fries and onion rings. It was the first time I've had onion rings that were crispy and actually...tasted onions inside. The rest of the dish was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning to try out some more of their menu. We highly recommend this pub. Well done 👏More

Food tasted lovely. Steak and ale pie had a nice rich gravy with melt in the mouth beef chunks. Only downside was the puff pastry lid was not fully cooked so had to be discarded. Was offered a replacement pie lid but I declined. Chunky...chips nice and crispy and fluffy inside. Fish and chips good too. We thought the portion sizes were a bit small, wife and I thinking they had delivered the smaller portion size by mistake. Not often she cleans the plate, normally that’s my job! At £15 fish and chips and £16.25 pie and chips it is heading in the more expensive direction of pub dining. Staff were all very friendly and happy which is always good to see. If you like your real ale then this place would be a good pub to come to.More

We stayed here for one night on a little road trip across Dorset. A great find in a little quaint village. Leanne was a great host and let us check in early. Lovely spacious room with everything you would need. We ate at the pub...in the evening and again great hospitality and delicious food. There was a pub quiz at the time which we just played along on our own but enjoyed likewise. A lovely pub and definitely would recommend for future.More

There were seven of us, six adults and an eight year old. The adults all ordered either the steak and stilton pie or the steak and ale pie. The 8 year old had the children's cheeseburger. The service was friendly and helpful throughout, the pub...is exactly what you'd hope for from a traditional English pub and the food was excellent. We struggled to find even the slightest fault with our visit and would absolutely recommend it to anybody in the area (we were staying in Weymouth and it was worth the drive). To add to the experience, there were Morris dancers in the yard on the way out. This was very exciting and novel for my Danish wife and Danglish son who had never seen anything like this.More

Great pub. We ate here on a Friday night. Sat in the lovely garden in warm June sunshine. We had mussels & beef & Stilton pie both of which were beautiful. Great beers too! What made this a 5 ring review was the service. Everyone...was warm, helpful, genuine and upbeat. A great example of “how to do it” especially as they were really busy!More

Went to the Brewers Arms tonight with friends for the quiz night - thought it was a good deal at £10 for the quiz and then pizza or curry. They were unfortunately very busy which meant we waited a long time for food and the...food was extremely poor quality :( the pizza undercooked and just almost inedible. This may be due to keeping it low cost for the deal as a friend had a meal from the normal menu which he said was very nice. I can see how this could be a great pub at other times but would suggest not doing the quiz and meal for £10 deal if visiting. What topped it off was sitting at our table outside the kitchen and hearing staff members in the kitchen letting out large, loud burps! I wanted to discuss this with staff at the time however they were incredibly busy with lots of quiz members and seemed rushed off their feet so it was difficult to catch anyone!More
