wonderful Sunday lunch it arrived hot freshly cooked and plenty of it the beef melted in your mouth it was that tender. For dessert, I had home made cheesecake, which was delicious. I can highly recommend this place for lunch but do book as it is very popular and they do have regulars.

I needed a quick light bite at lunch which is what I got; tomato and garlic soup with white bread, a slice of Victoria Sponge, and a mint tea. The soup was spot on but the bread was pre-sliced from a package rather than from a local bakery. I am also used to Victoria Sponge being moist and filled with... More

I'd bought a High Tea voucher for 2 for my mum as a Mothers Day gift, and on our visit we said we would pay for an extra High Tea for 2 for myself and my husband. We made it clear on arrival to two members of staff that my son wasn't hungry so we only needed 4 portions, which... More

We have been coming back here for over twenty years and it's still my favourite place for afternoon tea. Walking in really is like stepping back in time. You feel like you are sitting in a favourite aunt's front room - or should that be parlour! The decor is homely and inviting. They have added a counter area since we... More

This is one of the loveliest restaurants/tea rooms in Dorchester, I've been here a few times and always received a lovely warm welcome. The service is excellent along with the lovely tea cakes. hmmmm.

this was our second visit after about 2 years and it was nice to see the same welcoming lady and the wonderful tea room unchanged. We had the cream tea and again there was so much cream and jam we couldnt finish it. I cant wait to go again.

We have stayed here twice and both times enjoyed wonderful visits.. we were able to bring our dog(s), sleep in a four poster bed, as well as enjoy the most delicious breakfasts with THE best hospitality.

Popped in for a quick lunch, stayed 2 hours for roast and pudding! Wonderful hostess, great atmosphere and cracking roast lamb! Debbie (the witch) is so friendly and her young staff were quick and helpful. Such characters dining in this place, a wonderful tea house to spend a chilly February afternoon. Delicious home made desserts and proper tea cups (much... More

This place has made a mark in my personal history because I used to practically live there in 1995 when I was newly-divorced, arriving in Dorchester from County Durham to make a new start with a new job and, although I didn't realise it at the time, a new partner within the year. She and I went back there a... More

Visited for a friend's birthday. Very good selection of sandwiches and delicious scones. Generous slices of cakes but very average. Good service despite no record of our booking.
