We were visiting Sherborne house and gardens so wanted somewhere local that would cater for me (I'm vegan) and was delighted to see a Vietnamese Curry on the website menu, so we popped over, only to be greeted by one of the male staff members who was more than useless. Luckily there was a lady and another chap who explained... More

My children and I had a meal here at the Half Moon Inn. Food was Ok, my soon did enjoy his pizza, my daughter and I had pie which felt like it had been heated in the microwave which was a real shame as the pie would have tasted so much nicer had it been crusty from the oven. Venue... More

Great all round food especially the pizza. Nice fun pub to visit as great outside seating area. Nice pub for a beer and good stop off place before a great curry next door.

A real pub hotel and that's exactly what it is. Good pub food and nice place to drink a beer or cider. Rooms are basic but good value.

The building itself makes a good impression on you as soon as you see it, then the staff seem very friendly, the bar gas a wide range of real ales, lagers, ciders etc and all 8 of us enjoyed our food. I suspect that it might be better to visit for a nice lunch rather than a fancy evening meal... More

Description
23rd April 2011 As chain pubs go it was very good and not to be confused with the fantastic Half Moon Inn at Horsington a few miles away. The food was freshly cooked with a noticeable lack of frozen veg. Service was good, tables clean and prices fair. Menu although ‘corporate’ had a few interesting ideas and he specials were appealing. Parking is a little unusual; a pay and display car park then pub customers get a refund proportionate to spend, so if eating likely a full refund as we did, but you need change before going there. Dinner for 2 with drinks £27.40.
