A perfect evening in a perfect restaurant. From entering to leaving we felt valued diners, the waiters were helpful without being intrusive. Our food was perfect (starters Prawns and Pate) were well presented and tasty, our mains (Dover Sole and Battered Haddock) were the best...we had tasted outside London. I was treated to a lunch today …I knew of this place but initially felt it was perhaps a bit too traditional . Well… it was but in the nicest possible way. The food was fantastic , service good. Place itself just as you would...expect from a well established Brighton institution. We both remarked how nice it was to find somewhere with no loud intrusive music…so a good gossip was possible.More

We booked English’s for our aunts 86 birthday. She lives in Eastbourne and is not confident enough to get herself to Brighton, so jumped at the chance when I suggested we go! We were not disappointed, the staff, wine, and most importantly the food were...exceptional. We shared one of the hot food platters, such theatre when it arrived. It was full of such an array of gorgeous seafood. All delicious 😋More

Wonderful food and good service. The two basic essentials for any good restaurant, are here in abundance. In addition, you get a lovely, quite intimate little spot, a great wine list and Avery reasonable bill at the end of your meal. We had 2 courses...one glass of wine and a water. £105 Inc the 12.5% service charge.More

English's is a classic, consistently excellent with a characterful décor and great personal service. This is a Rolls Royce of a restaurant.

Never been to English's before yet lived in Brighton for 12 year and what an absolute diamond in the rough. Service was outstanding, the food was beautiful and (rarely do I say this) the bill was very reasonable. We were lucky enough to go on...a summers evening and were able to dine outside. What a treat, could have been anywhere in Europe. Will definately go back.More
