Me and my girlfriend paid a visit in the January, because we wanted to try some african cuisine. I can't remember what I had for lunch but it was something with lamb and my gf ordered something else with chicken (forgive me I can't remember the names). Both were amazing, very well cooked and warm. We also like the sausages... More

Being Turkish, the flavours took me home. The meat in my okra dish was incredibly soft and tasty. Very well done saffron rice. The music was quite nice. We were there mid winter and were the only ones there for lunch, and it was very cold. But they didn't use heating even after we asked, which made us bit cranky,... More

Was a total surprise as we booked this last minute for Christmas Day. The restaurant was completely charming and the food was lovely. We enjoyed it very much and will be returning in the future.

Stumble across this gem on here and booked a table for a nice meal on our night away. It did not disappoint! BYO for drinks which was great and no corkage 👍🏻. The food was amazing - lamb tagine just melted in your mouth & the mixed starter was a great way to sample the great Moroccan food on offer!... More

I went here with a group of friends. I liked the meze for two. Nice ambience and morrocan decorations. Service was good and they allow you to byo wine. My main was disappointing. I ordered a chicken curry type dish and the sauce was to sweet for my taste. I would go again but next time will go for a... More

Always a great pleasure each time we visit. The owner are incredibly warm, friendly and accommodating and will always try to fit you in with a late reservation or when you just pop in. The staff are efficient and well trained to you allow you to have a relaxed meal in a sometimes mall seemingly manic environment. The food is... More

This was a second time visiting this restaurant after going for the first time for a family celebration in December 2016. After our amazing first visit we decided to go on a 'date night' to this fantastic family run restaurant. And it didn't disappoint. We initially went an hour earlier than our booking as we were so hungry 😂 Which... More

I ordered the mixed Mezze and a couple of sides. It was sloppy, bland, old salad and small portions. I shall not be coming back sorry.

Description
A Lebanese and Persian restaurant on Brightons busy Western Road, Taste of Sahara gives seaside dwellers a taste of the exotic at a very reasonable price. With its dcor created with care to reflect the atypical Middle East of story books and holiday brochures all pierced tin lanterns, heavy wood and rich colours Taste of Sahara has a look which reflects the diverse flavours of its immensely flavourful menu. From kebabs to tagines, all ones Middle Eastern favourites are offered by the Sahara kitchen, along with some lesser known dishes that will tempt the more adventurous diner. In particular, the restaurants mezzes prove popular, the sharing concept somehow suited to this kind of cuisine, particularly when accompanied by the BYO policy.
