We live locally and avoid the pub at all costs every weekend as it is overrun with unruly children. Parents simply don't care about their children's behaviour and the effect this has on other people. No regard whatsoever. We went on Monday night for a...More

Good fish and chips. Attentive, engaging staff. Sunshine. Does it get any better than this in England?

Went up here on a Saturday afternoon, thought I had walked into a crèche, small loud children everywhere, screaming and running around, this is not a pub. I don't go to pubs to have to endure other people's kids, the place was chaos, turned around...More

This pub used to be such a great venue for lunch, serving delicious food. But those days are long gone. My mum lives locally, so we've tried it twice recently and both times were hugely disappointed. We won't be going back. And judging by how...More

A year ago I had the Sunday Roast of Pork Belly and it was fantastic. This time however, it was a different story. The gaggle of conspiratorial 'bar staff' behind counter gave me the immediate impression that their time was important than mine. Without a...More

There were nine of us, including two children and a baby. We had a great time, the service was friendly, relaxed, unhurried, and engagingly tolerant. The drinks were good value, £15 for a bottle of decent wine, and the food was truly excellent. The vegetarian...More

Two very sad visits was enough for me. Waited over an hour for very small portion of lukewarm food the first time, with unhappy staff and a cross manager looming over everyone. Second time the food had to be sent back to the kitchen. For...More

I have been to the PPT on many occasions since it changed hands a couple of years ago. Over this time the food has varied in quality and taste, but our most recent visit prompted me to review again. Although there was nothing that I...More

I have eaten their twice recently. Once for lunch, midweek with friends, we waited 45 minutes for our lunch, and there was only 6 other people in the pub. My friends Fish in batter was burnt (this has been the case on several occasions), my...More

Description
Locals and foodies mix in this delightfully bright and cheerful family-friendly food pub – a hidden gem, which has remained busy and buzzy since it opened six years ago. Something of a local institution, this fabulous pub serves good honest food, prepared with skill and passion. Beautifully prepared roast meals are served on Sundays from 12 to 6pm. With superb Sussex reared meats, a vegetarian and fish option as well as small portions for children, it’s hard to find a reason not to visit.
