First meal from Sabai (via dinner2go delivery service). The food arrived in just over an hour which was acceptable. All dishes were excellent. The 3 of us each had a starter and a main meal. It was authentic, spicy Thai food. The real deal! We will certainly visit Sabai for an eat in dinner based on the quality of the... More

I hadn't visited Sabai for a long time until I did last week and it was just as good as I remember. The food was so delicious (I had the panang curry) and everything was reasonably priced. It was also really nice to have the option of a vegan wine, and the vegan food options were clearly marked on the... More

Sawat di ka I am very pleased you chose to dine with us again after a long time. Even more pleased to hear that the food was delicious. I am also glad you appreciate our vegan offerings. We like to make Sabai available to everyone :) Hope you don't leave it too long before we welcome you again! Kind regards... More

Visited in early evening after work. Service was very welcoming and helpful. Food was devine! Lighting a bit dark though. Will return next time I'm in Brighton.

Sawat di ka Thanks for the kind words. My family, the staff and myself really appreciate it. We get good feedback about our lighting but I know sometimes the staff dim it a bit too much. I think one of my waiters eat too many carrots :) I will make sure the staff know not to turn them down too... More

The food is bland and my boyfriend and I had to wait 35mins for out main to come. The staff are disorganised.

Good evening Clarissa Very sorry to hear about your experience. As you can see from our most recent reviews we normally serve delicious food with great service. Sorry you did not experience that. We have had some new members of staff and due to recent illness with others they had to work at the same time. It may have been... More

I've been eating here for many years and have always had a great meal. However on this occasion it was dreadful. The service was slow, the food was bland, cold and dry. When I spoke to the waitress she was dismissive and made out it was my lack of knowledge of Thai food. Such a shame as I've always been... More

Good evening Ali I am really sorry about the bad experience you had. If you have been coming here for many years then I am sure we would have met personally. As you say this is the first time that this has happened so I ask for a chance to prove that it was a one off. It was wrong... More

Superb food and great service, what more could you ask for! Loads of gluten free options as well! I especially love the Stay Chicken and Masaman curry! You're missing out if you've never been!

We went to this restaurant after an afternoon out in Brighton, mainly because I fancied some tempura. My first impression of the restaurant was that the decor looked rather tired and dated, but we received a friendly welcome and were served promptly. I ordered tempura prawns, tempura vegetables and prawn pad thai and my husband ordered coconut prawns and prawn... More

I am so sorry to hear about the experience you had. It saddens me that our chef could make such a terrible mistake. It also upset her when she found out what she did. I can understand your disappointment and would think to tell other vegetarians to avoid. But it was a careless error by one of our staff. My... More

Excellent one of the best Thais in Brighton. Must book though as very popular. Not as expensive as Giggling Squid which charges as much as it can get away with.

This really was the worse restaurant I have been to. It was freezing cold inside no heating apart from when you first walk in the door or out with a blow heater. Had to ask for my coat back and put it on. Was seated near the door so every time it opened got a freezing cold draft. The decor... More

Dear Joy, It always saddens us to read that someone has had a disappointing experience at Sabai. I would like to respond to your comments. Description
Sabai show's tremendous consistency having won a certificate of excellence award for the last 4 years running. The Thai word Sabai translates simply as relaxed, the perfect description of this Brighton gastrobar where the urban cool of London on Sea is matched to the ethnic charm of the Land of Smiles. Bringing a taste of Phuket's beach bars and Bangkok's most upmarket restaurants to the UK, Sabai is all about chilling out, South East Asian style a fact which is patently clear from the silk floor cushions, cocktail menu and warm, smiling welcome. The deep red and dark wood, gold and green interior is as beautiful as Sabai's freshly cooked, authentic food, MSG free and made using local ingredients where possible and imported Thai herbs and spices where essential. Because everything is made to order, special requests are welcomed.
