Having found it hard to find a table without booking in Brighton the night before, we came in to Bohemia at about half 5 so we knew we'd have a table when they started serving food at 6. We looked up the menu online so we thought wed have some good vegetarian options to choose from. At the moment, all menus are online and the food menu doesn't show up until you can order it, so we had a couple of cocktails ordered a bottle of wine.
The cocktails, to be fair, we're lovwky and it's a pretty cool, interesting venue.
When we were able to see the menu it seemed to be a reduced menu and the only option for me was a veggie burger. The other food was pretty uninspiring for my partner too (burgers, fish and chips etc) and we actually ended up booking a table elsewhere as we finished our wine.
(and ended up drinking too much that night!!)

Visiting for the day and we came in for lunch. They were serving a reduced menu I believe so I had a few small plates and my guest had a main. We both thought the food was lovely and couldn't fault it! I recommend the truffle chips and croquettes. Service staff very attentive can't wait to return!

I have always loved Bohemia so as soon as we were in Brighton we wanted to visit there for some of their amazing cocktails.
I arrived before my partner & they were hesitant to let me in on my own preferring for me to wait for him. I asked surely I could come in for a drink first. They let me in but said when my partner arrived that I needed to go outside & sanitise my hands again, I said fair enough.
We ordered some cocktails which were great, they didn’t have any dry ice but it was straight after the weekend. There was only 3 staff on & they were busy so it took quite a while to get the cocktails. We ordered a second round & had strawberry fields which are delicious.
As we were in Brighton for a few days we decided to return the next day on my birthday. We ordered by the App & had a fantastic espresso martinis with the dry ice which looks fantastic. On the second round I ordered a strawberry fields which tasted very strange & was a different colour than the previous evening. The cocktails took awhile but again they were busy & only a few staff working. We spoke to the guy at the bar, they were rather reluctant to accept the cocktail wasn’t correct. They then offered to make another cocktail for me which when I tasted it wasn’t great so we decided to leave.
The staff are very friendly but really could have done with more staff working as they had a lot of procedures in place about waiting to be seated & ordering through the App which was great but there wasn’t enough staff working for this to work.
They did seem a bit stressed but considering everything they were dealing with it was totally understandable.
Their cocktails are great, it’s a lovely venue & they really were trying their best to ensure procedures were followed. During the current times you just need a bit of patience when you go here.

I don’t normally write reviews, but after the poor experience at Bohemia, I feel I have to.
We ordered two classics from the online menu, a double Haymans gin and tonic and a margarita. The gin was full of peppercorns and completely ruined the taste. Similarly, my margarita was entirely bitter and overly salted, and I could barely manage three sips before I left it (and I love margaritas).
The gin was remade. However, we noticed that we were served Bombay. The server seemed shocked and unconvinced until the bartender casually replied that they don’t serve Haymans and had been replacing everyone’s drinks with substitutes, unbeknownst to the customers.
Additionally, I was also cautious at the lack of control over people wearing masks, as no one in the toilets was wearing one, and neither were a few people walking in and out.
It may seem like minor issues but for a ‘cocktail bar,’ we were very unimpressed, especially as we paid £20 for two incredibly poor and incorrect drinks. It would have been so much easier for the venue to update their online menu or just told us so we could try something else!

We have already spoken to our team, and shared your feedback with them. And we have also followed up with the team regarding the lapse in service, making sure our bar people follow all the guidelines of preparation and service of drinks. We are also making sure to check the areas where people may be a bit more relaxed regarding wearing masks, like the toilets you mentioned on your comment.

Visited on a weekday evening as a couple. The establishment was not very busy, and was not at full capacity.
When entering, the staff member on the door was very rude and abrupt- accusing me of misleading them when filling in NHS test and trace- demanding to see ‘proof’!
Once we had been seated, in a very loud area, our drinks and ‘bar snacks’ took over 25 minutes to arrive. One of the drinks came 10 minutes before the other.
The specific cocktails we ordered came with a ‘special’ feature of dry ice, which the waitress failed to deliver on one drink, but not the other; as she was too busy gossiping. For the price of these drinks, we did not expect them to come without the ‘extra special’ delivery.
On a whole, we were very disappointed with the service and experience at Bohemia.

Ate here last night, we didn’t need to book and just turned up, we didn’t get there until 8.45 pm and so was told on arrival that we would only have 15 minutes to order as the kitchen would close at 9pm. This was fine to us and we ordered promptly. The waitress asked us for a drink order and must not have heard us properly as my husband asked for a bottle of Merlot red wine. However she came back with a single glass of red. We told her we had asked for a bottle not just a glass, here she simply sighed, picked the glass us and walked away. We were both quite taken back by her reaction and felt as though we had inconveniences her in some way. Food came and now a male waiter brought our bottle of wine, which was a bottle of Malbec red not Merlot. We didn’t want to mention again that our order was incorrect due to the waitresses response initially. Food was good and the portion sizes was large, and I can not knock the value of food for their prices. However, when the bill arrived we became aware that the price of the bottle of wine they had charged us was a whopping £36! Yes you’d expect high prices in this area but when I can buy the same bottle for £10 I think it takes the Mickey! We wouldn’t go back.

Been to Bohemia a couple of times before and have always had an enjoyable experience and the cocktails are delicious. Went this saturday first time experiencing their new ‘covid system’ however can’t say it was as good as previous visits. Our first set of drinks took over half an hour to arrive (just me and one friend) because of the wait we had already ordered our second drinks before our first arrived. Our second drinks however took even longer, pretty much 50 minutes. We did ask a waitress to look in to this and she apologised and said it hadn’t gone through their system. Which is bizarre as we had an email confirmation of the order and of course the payment had been taken. On the email confirmation as well it told you when to expect your order and it stated 13 minutes. After about 10 minutes after asking the waitress the drinks did finally arrive. And as ever tasted good, all we got was an apology though no sort of good will gesture or anything. The bar itself didn’t seem crazily busy, and for 2 drinks 50 minutes did seem rather ridiculous. I dread to think how long bigger groups waited. I do completely appreciate new systems have been put in place due to covid and this wouldn’t have happened in normal times. However was rather frustrating on both occasions we ordered it took longer than expected.

This was our first visit here, and what a great vibe.
The bar is a horse shoe arrangement with tables and sofas scattered around giving it a homely atmosphere
The music, which was not intrusive was enjoyable and suited our Sunday lunchtime a treat. Loads of goodies from the 'Ratpack' era.
We we were greeted by a very friendly waiter who let us sit anywhere we liked (we chose table 23,my house number) on the first floor over looking the bar area.
Our server (I'm sorry we didn't get his name) had a great sense of humour as well as being knowledgable about the menu, endorsing our choices.
The food and drinks arrived swiftly. However, when the menu states 'small plates'..it really is small plates, and whilst the prawns were nicely presented, the rice was bit on the dry side.
I opted for my good old favourite beer battered cod and chips. Once again very nicely presented, with a cheeky surprise of a dollop of mushy peas under the fish! The peas weren't too mushy, which can be a bit of a problem sometimes.
Although we enjoyed the food I felt it was a little pricey.
The loos were quirky, and clean.
We had an enjoyable time, and would visit again, but maybe more so for drinks than to eat.

Drinks wait was awful..
when we were seated the waiter slapped the menus on the table and we were told if we ordered from the website/ QR code it would be quicker. We waited 20 minutes for drinks and asked a waitress where are drinks were. We were told they would be over soon. Another 10 minutes passed and no drinks arrived. A waitress was walking over with our drinks and I double checked they was ours, as they had took so long, and she rudely responded YES! As we drank our drinks we saw the same waitress pick up used menus from empty tables and give them to new guests. These should be sanitised. She also cleared a table next to us and didn’t Sanitise the table either. This then worried us to wether our menus and tables were sanitised. Honestly a rather awful experience and a very unenjoyable evening. DO NOT recommend

A group of 8 of us visited yesterday (Sunday) about 5pm and we sat upstairs. There were maybe 20 other people in the bar at the time. We ordered our drinks at the bar because they had disabled the contactless online ordering system. We ordered in two sets of 4 because the men just wanted pints and coffee and the women wanted cocktails. The men had to chase their drinks after about 10 minutes and the women waited about 20 minutes before going back to the bar to chase our drinks. They were just sat on the end of the bar on a tray with no server in sight. The bar man said we could not take the tray ourselves. We waited another 10 minutes and then visited the bar again to complain, again. Eventually a different server stepped in and brought our drinks up to us but one cocktail was completely wrong so it had to be redone.
We felt very sorry for this second server who was having to apologise for other people's mistakes. The cocktails were very nice. The men ordered another round of drinks because we were all out of sinc with our drinking, having waited so long for one of the rounds. Their second round did not arrive and had to be chased. Eventually we cancelled it and asked for our money back.
Bear in mind we had paid for the rounds in advance, otherwise I firmly believe we would have walked out much much earlier. The 4 cocktails were £44 and we felt the service was abysmal for the money paid. Such a shame because the surroundings are very pretty. They only had one man behind the bar preparing the drinks and 2 female servers.

We visited this bar/pub/lounge with friends when we came to Brighton from London for a day and we had a great time and meal. My friends enjoyed fish and chips but my pita bread for hummus was cold, it would have been nicer to have it warm. Very stylish place, loved the decor and atmosphere. The lady who served us Kristina was very professional and friendly. When we are back to Brighton will come back here! A huge thanks to staff who keep wearing masks all the time, we know how uncomfortable it gets wearing them all day but you keep customers safe - this is highly appreciated!Best wishes to all the team!

I was very disappointed with our trip to Bohemia.
You get drawn in with delicious fruit on your 1st pina colado & coffee beans on our Espresso martinis, however the 2nd drink you receive you get some old bit of mint that is not even fit for my green waste bin & you get cocoa powder & no coffee beans. I have never seen a pina colado without pineapple or decent fruit nor have I had a an espresso martinis with no coffee beans in it.
It seems that presentation is important on the 1st drink but not the second one.
It’s a great place with fantastic music, the ambiance is alive & the deco is brilliant.
The cost is the same for both drinks £11:50 each.
But with other establishments offering top class cocktails in the Brighton area I would expect a decent cocktail.
It looks like I may start a blog of quality cocktails 🍸 along with asking the customer what their preferred garnish is?

Visited here for 2 for a light dinner and cocktails. At first glance the menu seemed quite limited for tapas, however upon delivery our expectations were exceeded. Prawns were amazing! Service friendly and welcoming, wish I I could've tipped but they ask you to pay through an app. If I had to nit-pick one thing it would be that the cocktails are on the pricier side, however they were fantastic and beautifully presented so I guess you get what you pay for. Would return and recommend.

We have just spent another most enjoyable visit to Bohemia, relaxing to the music, enjoying the excellent cocktails and perfectly cooked and prepared food both for Brunch and early evening meal as we ended up chilling for 8 hours, where the time just flew. As always the service was excellent from all the staff, who are most friendly and can't do enough for you and you are made to feel a special guest. I can not recommend Bohemia enough for the place to visit while in Brighton. I have lost count on the number of visits, each one has been perfect. Thank you Paulo and all the staff that looked after us.

We visited Bohemia a few years back and had a fabulous time so thought we would return this year. Unfortunately it did not live up to expectation. We had to take our drinks off the tray due to ‘COVID’ yet they make our drinks without gloves on and served our food without making us take it off the tray. After we had finished with our drinks, the waitress proceeded to take our drinks off of us without us handing to them, where is the logic in this? Our waiter was very rude when we were taking the drink off the tray and accidentally spilt some saying the drink was perfectly fine when she brought it to us. We had to order off a menu online by scanning a QR code - where has proper, traditional service gone!?!? We will not be returning. Oh and to top it off, they have a reduced menu - where’s the nice steak and lamb gone? Disappointing is an understatement.

All these new service features is done with the Health and Safety of our customers and staff in mind. It's all very new for the whole industry, and comments like yours help us see where we can make adjustments.
