Surrounded by rats and pigeons, rude staff and underwhelming food and coffee. The location is great but cafe itself an eyesore

Lovely place to sit outside for a coffee or something to eat.Today there was music too.Excellent egg sandwich, freshly made, lots of filling and served covered in case of seagulls.Good coffee too.
I appreciate your lovely comments in relation to our coffee and food offering. For anyone enjoying music there is a series of Band Concerts on Sunday afternoons from now until the third week in September. Thank you again.
This is a relaxing spot in view of the Pavilion, and tranqil despite backing onto one of Brighton's busiest streets. The cafe building is a treasure and the staff are very helpful and accommodating. The food is plentiful, and served promptly - though a disparity...in portion size between different kinds of dish could be a bit embarrassing if you end up with something big! It's a lovely spot for a catch-up with friends and is thoroughly recommended. A bit puzzling though that coffee can be served in a selection of different sized cups, whereas for tea one size only is available.More
Thanks for your lovely comments on our cafe. Coffee is available in two sizes, regular or large, whereas tea is available in mugs or pots. Sorry if the displays on the options of sizes weren’t clear.
Lovely outside cafe. Clean everywhere. Staff are wonderful. We visit 2 times a week. Reasonably priced food. Lovely selection. Food comes in covered container as pigeons are friendly visitors. Squirrel are seen also. Relaxing place in sun. Been going here since 1990 and been so...great to eat and drink.More
Thanks for your kind comments. We always try to give good service to our customers.
Lovely cafe in pavillion gardens , nice coffee and cake and good service , great atmosphere watching the world go by and good service
Thanks for your lovely review.
Nice gardens, very popular for a lunch or brunch stop. We also had a rest here and enjoyed the warmth of the sun while waiting for our slot to go up the i360
Thanks for lovely comments.
Just a few feet from New Road, it felt like we were in the country: bird song, squirrels, dappled shade and the best apple pie I have had. The homemade food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. A nice mixture of people, some...with their dogs, some with kids in tow and some more elderly regulars, everyone having a good time. I wish we could have stayed there much longer but it was the perfect Sunday morning chill.More
I am really glad you enjoyed our cafe experience and Apple Pie. We try to employ lovely staff who make our customers feel welcome. Trading for over 80 years as a family business in the Gardens helps us keep continuity and a community ambience. Thanks
We decided to have a drink, a snack and to get out of the sun for a while on a day trip to Brighton. It was lovely to sit under the shade of a tree and have tea and a rock cake with jam and...cream, delicious, very reasonably priced as well.More
Lovely comments - thanks.
My son and me were cycling from Herne Bay to Lands End. We were 12 miles from our next accomodation and stopped here for a rest. The weather was amazing and we found this was a fantastric place for a reast and some excellent coffee....All the staff we spoke with were very helpful and friendly.More
We were on a very time restricted visit to Brighton and wanted to see the pavilion. Wanted a quick lunch so went to this very convenient cafe. What a lovely place, lovely view, excellent menu with plenty of gluten free choices. Very quick service, delivered...very quickly to our table, and cleared away very promptly. Really enjoyed it.More

Thanks for your lovely comments.
Delicious cakes (the coconut rock cakes, chocolate rock cakes, apple pie and Tunisian orange cake are particular highlights), sandwiches and coffee, tea, cold drinks and hot chocolate in a wonderful setting with a lovely view of the Pavilion and gardens. Friendly staff. We always love...coming here when we visit Brighton. We would highly recommend.More
Thanks for the lovely review and see you again when you next visit Brighton.
Great service and couldn’t of been happier with the atmosphere that the staff set from the outset. Would highly recommend!
Thank you for your lovely review.
Haven’t been to Pavilion Cafe for a while. Always lovely but they’ve really upped their game! Great cuppa and fantastic choice of homemade cakes. I ended up having 2 as can’t not have a rock cake. Friendly service as well.
Visited on Saturday 10th October 2020. Had a snack before going into the Royal Pavilion. Nice atmosphere with a threat from aggressive birds if you don't follow the advice on the cafe to cover your food. The staff were very friendly and offered a range...of toppings for our pie. Extensive menu for such a small establishment. Pretty posh but not in a bad way. Good SD in place and well organisedMore
