Amazing, food! Sausage and mash some of the best I've ever had! Although minimal and simple this classic dish is executed perfectly! Atmosphere was great and staff super friendly! Can wait to try the roast! 😋

It’s so nice to finally go to a pub restaurant where the staff are genuinely happy that you’re there and want you to have a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious - it’s genuinely the best roast I’ve had in Brighton or London. Every...element of it was great. We had 2 roast beef’s, pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese. Absolutely loved it - such a great experience.More

We’ve been waiting to try out The Geese for weeks and it certainly didn’t disappoint us. Lovely friendly bar staff and the waiters , who were also super busy were very efficient too. The roast beef was superb, roast potatoes were dark & crispy and...the Yorkshire pudding was fantastic. Daughter said her veggie sausage was also excellent, great vegetables too. Too full up to try dessert but we have rebooked to try out the sausage & mash menu.More

Popped in today with my partner and had one of the best Sunday roasts ever. The pork belly just melts in the mouth and the roast potatoes, gravy and Yorkshire are to die for. Sticky toffee and cheesecake were excellent, great staff and ambience. Wil...make many return visits!More

Absolutely superb Bloody Mary. Having had several terrible Bloody Marys recently in Brighton and beyond I made my order with slight trepidation wondering what monstrosity I might receive. I was actually astonished to be served one of the best Bloody Marys I’ve ever had. There...was an excellent level of lemon and lime to cut the richness of the tomato juice, plenty of ice, a lovely chilli kick with a salt and chilli rim and a pretty, but not over the top, garnish of celery, pickle and lemon. Super friendly staff too. Will definitely return!More

I arrived with out a booking to a hustling pub which smelt Devine, you could clearly small all the roast being prepared in the kitchen. When I arrived it was fully booked, as a. Lone traveller I sometimes struggle to get a table. The young...lady behind the bar jiggled a couple of seats around and managed to get me seated in the window on a stool which I was more than content with. ( 1 was starving) I order the lemon and garlic & thyme chicken which arrived about 30 minutes later. (Slightest feedback could of has stuffing) 😬😬 The chicken was cooked perfectly, tender and moist, roasties were great and filling, and lots of lashings of gravy…. Glorious after a long walk. THANKYOU for the prompt service and the cherry jovial interaction whilst serving. I shall return ZMore

The 2022 Bravo Award for Best Sunday Roast is a recognition of the amazing offer of The Geese!! Food, the total offer, is beyond any description! But I will try. Succulent beef slices, exuding careful cooking and a flavourful gravy! Potatoes that are crunchy, chewy...and cook to perfection. Cauliflower cheese and broccoli cheese that are incomparable to any of the many I have tried over the years. And all this, in a cool, friendly, vibrant atmosphere that makes you want to go back again and again for more and more!!! So worth the uphill!! Looking forward to coming back soon.More

I've been to The Geese several times before for a roast, and I've always been so happy with the food. Unfortunately, our last visit was very disappointing. I booked a table for my birthday for 12 of us and we pre-ordered our food. 2 of...us had the nut roast, which was very tasty. 1 had the vegan sausage roast, which was okay. 1 had beef, which was "fine," and 8 of the party had the pork, which was very disappointing. The pork was supposed to be rolled pork porchetta, but everyone agreed it was nothing like a porchetta. The pork looked more like a pork chop and was mainly fat. The pork was measley compared to the huge chunk of fat on each dish. One of my friends asked for some pork to go with their fat and were served pink pork, and another one of the group hardly touched hers because of how pink the meat was. The Yorkshire puddings were burnt and very tough. The portion sizes were very small compared to how they used to be. That wasn't necessarily a problem for me, but for £18 we thought the portions were very stingey, especially because, as I said, they've always been huge before. A couple of people were still really hungry after finishing. We did let them know and were told they'd discount some of the bill but all of the food and, from what I could tell, drinks were still on there. The service was very friendly and we didn't wait long for drinks but overall it was such a disappointing visit. I'd booked The Geese because I rated their roasts so highly and because its voted one of the best roasts in Brighton, so we all expected more. I might go again for a roast, but I do think there are better places that are more consistent with the quality of the food.More

Had lunch here yesterday to celebrate my son Charlie's 21st birthday. Having booked in advance for five of us we were given a great table in the window so we had plenty of room and could take in all that was going on both inside...and out. Excellent food as expected, special requests were accommodated without any fuss and there were a great range of drinks, including my favourite cider. We all had a great time and a day to remember. And most of all thank you to the staff working who were all lovely friendly and helpful. Thank you all very much.More

First time here and all five of us absolutely loved our roast. It was a bit of a wait, as the pub was very busy, but honestly worth every second. The roasts are very generous and fairly priced, and each element was executed perfectly, including...all the sides. Staff were warm and attentive, and the pub itself is small but charming and comfortable. Would 100% recommend and return.More
