Went for Sunday Lunch. Service with a smile but food was like eating a school dinner. Gravy, meat and potatoes very poor.
Lucky enough to win a steak platter today. The food was incredible and the staff are amazing made us feel so welcome. We have visited many times before and of you do you HAVE to try Tuaca 😁
This was an event for my work colleagues to say goodbye to wonderful people. It was a good occasion but sadly the food was not good at all stop one of my colleagues had a vegan bow bun which contained cold cherry tomatoes and that...is it so sad full stop another colleague had fries which were called dirty fries and it was a case of some bugs standing supermarket fries covered in melted cheese which had been microwaved so when it came to the table you needed a hammer and chisel to separate them and the bacon was as hard as bullets. I had chicken fajitas which was extremely over salty and the sauce it was cooked in was extremely untasty. It was so frustrating my colleague had a refund for the bow buns and did not eat anything. The only saving grace was the game of toads and company that was there. I will never be eating there again.More
A disappointing Sunday roast. We’d been looking forward to trying here for some time but left rather disappointed! The veg was good but the potatoes, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding were all terrible, and the meat was slightly overdone, yet the cracking hadn’t been done anywhere...near enough! It’s a fairly nice cute little pub but I just expected better given I’d heard great reviews.More
Ate dinner mid week at the Caxton Arms, during our stay in Brighton. Very welcoming bar staff. Nice, warm, cozy pub. It was happy hour so we were able to double up on our drinks! Good selection of wines, beers & spirits. The food menu...offered a good choice for vegetarians, vegans & meat eaters & gluten free. My partner ordered the fish & chips, I had the vegan burger with skinny fries. Service was very good. Food was excellent- my vegan burger had lots of flavour, big portion & was well priced. My partner really enjoyed his fish & chips. Pub was surprisingly busy for mid week. Nice popular spot. Huge selection of board games - if that’s your thing. Recommended.More
Hidden gem close to the station. Lovely food too. Because we had eaten lunch not long before, I bought the selection of chips on the menu, and they were delicious 😋 Added bonus was the bar billiards and darts.
Great pub, amazing Sunday Roast, friendly relaxed service and reasonable prices. Three roast beefs and my wife had the vegan nut roast - said it was the best she had ever had. Great atmosphere too! Highly recommend.
Great food lovely friendly people and a great vibe, go to this pub and it’s right near the station if you’re visiting Brighton. Sunday roast was gorgeous
Came here for a roast with a large party and they have us the downstairs venue to ourselves which I've been to for great gigs previously. Nice outside area and brilliant selection of board games! Drinks and food were superb
Visited the Caxton for the first time on Sunday after a recommendation, food was outstanding. Huge choice of Sunday lunches and fantastic food. Thank you
Love this pub, really friendly staff with a good selection of beers. THey also have an outside area at the rear of the pub which is very nice
This pub have just called to tell us we no longer have our table that we booked 2 weeks ago with the England quarter final game in mind. Have completely ruined our best friends Stag because they have decided to give the tables to the...people that watched the game before us. We now have no time to try and find somewhere else to seat 13 of us outside. Unbelievable to be told that the table we booked weeks ago has been given to another group. Such poor management from this terribly run pub.More
Booked a table of 6 for the football and they kicked us off as they had double booked (the other party arrived 40 mins late). Couldn’t have done any less to help sort another table. Terrible service. Won’t be coming back
Absolutely love this bar. The staff were lovely and there was such a nice atmosphere. It’s my new happy place. Booking in for roasts as soon as pubs reopen as I was getting major food envy. I’ll be back!
