Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really really busy, we did manage to get a table though for us. Lots of Hen & Stag dos in they all looked amazing. Fast table service. I wasn’t massively impressed with my porn star martini it tasted just like a J2O with ice in...it drank it as we weren’t staying for another drink so id stay clear of that drink if you are expecting it to be a good cocktail. Other than that the location was very good.More

Fantastic service by the staff, who seemed very young, but in fact were very professional and timely with the orders sent. Great atmosphere and good crowd and I was impressed by the service and the pricing is un matchable anywhere else. The young woman on...the bar named Ellen was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.More

I attended this Weatherspoon pub with my bestfriend who is a wheelchair user on the 4th February 2024 at 14:12pm and was truly disgusted with the fact this place is classified as accessible. First off there were two incredibly heavy doors to even enter the...building which a wheelchair user could not do alone. Once inside we had to wait ten minutes for a member of staff to unlock the lift so we could use it (I would like to point out that if someone has to ask for access then it isn't truly accessible). After a member of staff finally unlocked the lift for us we discovered that there were in fact two full tables in front of the lifts door so my bestfriend could not exit what is described as a 'wheelchair accessible lift'. I had to move a total of six chairs and two tables plus had to make many people eating move for my bestfriend to be able to even leave the lift. We then discovered if they wanted to use the accessible toilet they would have to wait for a member of staff to re-unlock the lift, go back in the lift to the lower floor which would require moving all of the table and chairs again which is both disgusting and truly abhorrent. I am sure they are trying to maximise sales and their floorplan space by having as many tables/chairs as possible but the fact that they would place them directly in front of a lift completely removing a disabled person to access the upper section of the restaurant truly shows the lack of care and thought put into both disabled people and accessibility as a whole. We ended up leaving this establishment without purchasing anything as there was barely anything available on the menu, the customer service was lacklustre and the burdensome feeling the pub caused my bestfriend was too much to bare to even try and enjoy a meal. Plus the lack of care and consideration of where they position their tables and chairs was truly outrageous not just myself and my bestfriend but also the patrons around us. I am sure that as a whole they do not consider how disabled people navigate the world on a daily basis however if relying on accessibility was their entire lifeline then I am sure the decisions made in their establishment would be far different. I am writing this message not only to express my anger and disgust at the 'accessible' restaurant but to raise awareness to to other disabled people to never attend this pub. Having a lift is all well and good but if you cannot access it unaided and there are obstacles in front of the door at all times then how can you in good conscious call this accessibility?More

The Bright Helm in Brighton is a Wetherspoons pub and the good thing about these pubs is the free wifi. I needed to send a message so popped in and got a drink and settled down to connect to the world wide web. Even though...it was about Midday the pub was very busy but I was able to find a seat. As it was busy the staff were all working hard but there were empty glasses on the tables. Bearing in mind how busy it was I did not have an issue with this as the staff were all working hard.More

Myself, my Niece and her two little girls were going to see Elf the Musical at the Brighton Centre and chose to go to wetherspoons as it was close to the Brighton Centre, we decided to have dinner and dessert before the show, we ordered...the food and drinks via the app and then a bartender called Oscar came over and said there was a problem in the kitchen with the fryers he said engineers were working on them so we waited to see how long it would be and he constantly kept updating us his service was exceptional he made sure we was ok he made sure our drinks were brought over while we waited, after about 10 mins he said it was all systems go, we had our food the desserts were a little bit delayed but again Oscar was on hand at all times. He is a true credit to the company and we feel he should be recognised for this, he made our evening that extra special with his hard work, his kindness and his excellent customer services. Thank you so much Oscar we will definitely return if we are going to be served by someone as lovely as you.More

If you enjoy a clean pub with sparkling, engaging clientele and staff …don’t come here. Possibly the dirtiest pub I’ve ever had the misfortune to spend a few minutes in.

We called in as we had limited time before catching our bus home. Very quick service and the food and drinks were excellent value. We opted for a Jalfrezi and a small cod and chips and both of us enjoyed our meal.

I was in Brighton for the day on October 6, & went for the fish & chips at the Bright Helm. The price was right, but I was disappointed with the meal. The fish was okay, but I couldn’t believe how few chips came with...the fish! Was it worth it? A BIG no! All in all, the meal was a big disappointment & I have had much better fish & chips elsewhere.More

Called in mid afternoon as a couple for a few drinks. Wine was served to us in brandy glasses as they had run out of wine glasses. Very few people in at this time and empty glasses not collected. We were in about an hour...and no tables cleaned or glasses collected. The place was filthy. Someone had punched holes in the wall in the gents toilets and debris was scattered over the floor causing a possible trip hazard. No-one removed it. Shocking management. Avoid at all costs!More

I went up to the bar as my food incorrect and not what I ordered, a girl with brunette hair and a pony tail immediately responded rudely and said my order was correct when I had the receipt proofing otherwise. I was extremely disappointed with...the service i received and the way I was spoken to after approaching her in a friendly way. I will not be returning and hope her attitude can improve for other customers.More
