Disappointed that the restaurant wasn't full on a Friday lunchtime, because it is remarkable value for the quality of food, ambiance and service. The service was unobtrusive but attentive; the wine list is very reasonably priced and while my starter was probably only average, the...More

This restaurant always amazes me with its excellent food, wonderful friendly service and at lunch time especially good value for this class of establishment. Would always recommend it. Since the closure of the Hungry Monk it is our favourite place to eat.

The other restaurant is Tristan. This is 10 minutes from my flat and I would say it is the best place in Brighton for Lunch. The food is great, service brilliant and good value they have thought out everything that makes a really great restaurant.

We have eaten at Gingerman several times over the years. The food was certainly still very tasty, but the portion sizes have reduced to the point of it being comical! This despite it still being more expensive than comparable restaurants in Brighton!

Used to be very very special indeed but it now has a kids menu and allows openly displayed breast feeding. Not what you want to see at an expensive and once special place. I won't be back and used to go every month.

Been to many restaurants in Brighton, and this easily stands out as the best. Very hard to fault! Food was superb, the waiting staff were lovely and the restaurant itself had a lovely warm atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I agree, lovely restaurant but not really child friendly. It's more of a couples restaurant.
