We visted here on a Friday night and ordered the Portuguese fish stew and polenta chips. The fish stew was delicious, sea bass cooked to perfection as were the mussels, crab, clams and prawns. Very generous portions and the polenta chips were a very nice...addition. Service was great, definately a gem on the Brighton food scene!More

Wonderful Sunday lunch today and can highly recommend The Greys. Although obviously very busy, the staff were friendly and attentive and service was good. The food was amazing - tasty and very generous helpings - I struggled to finish but didn’t want to leave anything!...Good atmosphere and if you are looking for a good Sunday lunch - look no further.More

This is a lovely pub, serving great beers and lovely food. They also put on great live music events! Its a pub well worth visiting and of course Brighton is also a fantastic place.

So pleased we found this great pub! Food on offer on a wet Sunday night in February was just what anyone would want.. great choice of roasts, beef, pork belly, free range chicken and vegetarian and vegan options. We opted for roast beef which came...with roast potatoes, and 6 or 7 other veg, plus Yorkshire pudding and brilliant gravy! We also ordered the cauliflower and cheese side.. just delicious!! Staff were lovely, so friendly and helpful.. loved the interesting and relaxing decor. Sorry I took the photos after I'd had my first big slice of beef!More

A very busy Sunday evening. We sat at a table for six with another couple at the other end. Ideal. They had six varieties of roast: my daughter had the vegan and I had the spinach, ricotta and goats cheese Wellington roast. Both excellent. Well...presented and quickly served bearing in mind the place was packed. Hanover is lucky to have a good choice of local pubs and long may it continue.More

Despite numbers dwindling over the past few years, Hanover still has a healthy number of pubs. The Greys used to be a music venue that punched above its weight in terms of people who played there but a number of changes of landlord saw it...lose it’s way. However the sale to a private owner who had made it independent of any brewery has seen a period of stability where food in particular seems to have been really focused on. And the food was great. My green veg risotto was delicious and my partner’s pie was everything you want from a pie - crispy pastry filled with rich gravy and tender meat. The crumble we had for pudding wasn’t quite as standout as the main but still nice. Good selection of drinks behind the bar and friendly staff. It was a shame that it was pretty empty (was a Thursday night though) as there was a distinct lack of atmosphere which would have been sorted if it had been busier.More

Friendly staff and a nice little pub. However, it was a shame our food took an hour and 10 minutes to come out and was defiantly not worth the wait. The food was lukewarm and was quite disappointed.

After a 45 minute wait for our food my pork was bristly and we had to ask for more gravy as the portions provided were so small. At the price charged expected a lot more and was disappointed. I will not be going here again...and would not recommend it.More

Called here for a drink late on a Saturday evening, it seemed to have a drinking vibe as well as serving rather lovely smelling food. The IPA, cider, and the Guinness were superb, the pub small with a friendly atmosphere and helpful bar staff. A...few outside seats available. Would definitely return for beer and food.More
