We had a salt beef sandwich and basil and mozzarella ciabatta with a portion of chips. Really friendly staff and the food, as always, was excellent.

A lovely genuine pub pub! Rare to find these days. Staff are very friendly, attentive and efficient. Older style furniture (in keeping). An unusual log-burning open fire, waist height, at the back of the pub/bar. Really lovely and very efficient - too hot for me to sit beside it! A good selection of beers and wines. Varied menu. Food very... More

No wonder the place was buzzing , Service - brilliant attentive accurate pleasant. Food Fantastic. Open Fire raging in a central hip height hearth ! Such a welcome sight on a rainy day to be warmly greeted and seating suggested for food service. Toilets immaculate. No wonder place is popular. We on a visit a few years ago found this... More

We were staying in the Old Town for Christmas and this was one of our favourite pubs. The staff are friendly, there is a lovely ambiance and the open fire very welcoming on cold winter nights. Although we didn't eat here ourselves, the food looked very appetising.

This place is a little gem, hidden in the old, old Town. Highly recommended to everyone the food was truly superb with a great choice of real ales. We sat in the dining room which was lovely and a complete contrast to the public bar but equally quaint.

Five of us, plus dog went here today (Sunday 18 December) for lunch. Having been very impressed with the Trip Advisor reviews, we phoned and made a booking earlier this week. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our 1330 booking and were shown to our table in the dining room attached to the back of the pub. A five... More

The pub was warmed by a centrally located open fire. They provided booths as well as bistro tables and bar stalls, all of which benefited from the warmth of the open fire. There was a good selection of ales and the food looked and smelled delicious, though we only drank here on the night that we visited.

I am reluctant to review this pub as I don't want too many people to know about it For me it is the perfect pub A selection of beers brewed by the pub with a good selection of lagers for those that must A dining room that has food of a quality that you will struggle to better in a... More

Good atmosphere and a fantastic open wood fire in the centre of the room. The seating was well arranged and the service on the whole was very good. When we were there, the pub was very busy indeed, but this added to the atmosphere..

Bit late posting review had to do a bit of research to find out Roy's name. This pub/resteraunt is what makes Hastings, England a great place to be. We were staying at Shearbarn up the hill and was looking for somewhere to eat Friday night, to be fair it was getting a bit late for kids to be in a... More
