This was the first time that I visited this lovely pub in the old town of Hastings. Great atmosphere in a very traditional British pub. Good selection of reasonably priced beers and friendly locals.

We were staying locally and popped in twice, cosy old fashioned pub with huge log fire which we all needed . Nice friendly greeting from staff and locals .

Another fun time here with family. The open fire was burning...and venting some of the smoke into the room. Men and women dressed in furs, horns and bells came and drank for 5 minutes...grateful when they left as one was dressed like the dr who scarecrows. Anyway...The pub yet again had a great selection of ale...The staff were as friendly... More

Nice old pub on Hastings High Street, good lunches most days and excellent own brewed beer; highly recommended. Live music some evenings, unusual open hearth fire. Park in the pay and display car park on the Bourne and walk through a small passageway to the High Street which exits alongside the "FILO" as it's known locally.

We had a salt beef sandwich and basil and mozzarella ciabatta with a portion of chips. Really friendly staff and the food, as always, was excellent.

A lovely genuine pub pub! Rare to find these days. Staff are very friendly, attentive and efficient. Older style furniture (in keeping). An unusual log-burning open fire, waist height, at the back of the pub/bar. Really lovely and very efficient - too hot for me to sit beside it! A good selection of beers and wines. Varied menu. Food very... More

No wonder the place was buzzing , Service - brilliant attentive accurate pleasant. Food Fantastic. Open Fire raging in a central hip height hearth ! Such a welcome sight on a rainy day to be warmly greeted and seating suggested for food service. Toilets immaculate. No wonder place is popular. We on a visit a few years ago found this... More

We were staying in the Old Town for Christmas and this was one of our favourite pubs. The staff are friendly, there is a lovely ambiance and the open fire very welcoming on cold winter nights. Although we didn't eat here ourselves, the food looked very appetising.

This place is a little gem, hidden in the old, old Town. Highly recommended to everyone the food was truly superb with a great choice of real ales. We sat in the dining room which was lovely and a complete contrast to the public bar but equally quaint.

Five of us, plus dog went here today (Sunday 18 December) for lunch. Having been very impressed with the Trip Advisor reviews, we phoned and made a booking earlier this week. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our 1330 booking and were shown to our table in the dining room attached to the back of the pub. A five... More
