We regularly visit the area and always make a trip to Cafe des Arts in Hastings. We are both dairy free and today's vegetarian breakfast of avocado with a very special lightly sweet and hot sauce and scrambled egg on toast is superb. Don't restrain it to breakfast it makes a great lunch too!

We like to support the independent cafes. This one is run as a business and social enterprise - providing training and work experience for people with autism. They also use fresh locally sourced ingredients. So a double thumbs up for us. Good cafe menu with a selection of light meals and sandwiches. We had a ploughman' lunch each and there... More

I was so pleased to see people with autism working in the cafe and being taught properly by the woman. The cheese scone was delicious. The new frontage is good, but I was sad about the shabby interior, is it really necessary to have three different chairs at one table and one was mended with what looked like blue pillow... More

First of all part of the staff is autistic but they are all very nice. the food was nice and the prices were reasonable. it overlooks a church and it is rather quiet even if it's really close to the main shopping area.

This is used to be a really lovely cafe with comfortable Chesterfield chairs and a relaxed vibe. For some strange reason the new management have replaced the lovely chairs with a selection of old mismatched hard chairs. They have also increased the prices. It's such a shame that they have spoiled a unique well loved venue.

Still a lovely cafe with all the same values.the decor is down to personal taste.the parts of the menu that have changed have gone up in price.however coffee drinks and cakes have all remaind the same. More

Used to come here at least once a week! The service was a bit hit and miss, but the food was good. The fact that it was to encourage autistic people to live independently was worth everything. You got to know the staff as well as the great food. Went back again after saying never again after all the staff... More

A really lovely family feel place to go with amazing food. We had a jacket potato with Mediterranean vegetables, it was amazing, came with a huge salad & homemade coleslaw! Really scrummy & yes we had to have one of their homemade cakes afterwards which didn't disappoint.

Cafe des has a relaxed ambience, sells great home made cakes and has some tasty lunch time recipes on offer too. A lovely place to go for a relaxing coffee or a reasonably priced lunch that is worth paying for - not that Cafe des is expensive.

Varied menu and home made food there were a few of us and some lunches were better than others but all were OK. The staff were tentative and helpful. Nice relaxing atmosphere.
