UN-BELI-VA-BLE. Best pizza ever. Unreal flavours. The owners put their heart and soul into each and every pizza that comes out form the oven. I am absolutely addicted. The ingredients are so fresh and so authentic you feel like you are in Puglia. Their homemade...garlic oil for their garlic bread is an elixir, their truffle pizza is mind blowing. I don't want any other pizza in my life, thank you very much. And their espresso with ricotta cream? No words to describe. It's a place you absolutely NEED to visit if you are in Hastings and if you are not- travel just to experience this culinary phenomenon. 100/10.More

As a real Napolitano I can truly say Monellis changed my life. Napolitan pizza has always been the only type of pizza acceptable to me. Since moving to Hastings from Naples I accepted not being able to enjoy a good pizza unless I go back...home. But one Sunday afternoon passing by Monellis I spotted an impressive focaccia on the display, tempted by it I went inside to be greeted like I was an old friend. What followed was THE MOST INCREDIBLE PIZZA that made me feel like I'm safe in the city, I WILL eat good. It is not Napolitan pizza, but it's a piece of art full of most genuine, top level ingredients made with 100% passion of the owners. Ingredients so rare and hard to find in the UK. I go there religiously every Sunday for a mind blowing family meal, because at Monellis you will feel like you are at home. Thank you Frankie and Francesca, you are golden!More

The best pizza I’ve ever eaten! Light, thin, crispy base with tasty topping……exactly how it should be but seldom is. Great atmosphere in the cafe and friendly owners and staff. Very memorable experience!

Amazing!!! The pizzas here are the best we've ever had in the UK. We came to Hastings Old Town in February, as a couple, and came to Monellis then for the first time. We loved the pizza, the owners and the experience so much that...when we came back in August as a family it was at the top of our list. This time we had a party of 5 with our Labrador and the experience was just as good. I had the calabrese pizza which was superb! We also had a margarita pizza with Italian sausage, an artichoke calzone and a roasted pepper pizza followed by cannoli which were divine and made in house. The owners are fantastic; so friendly and personable without being overbearing. Everything is made with fresh ingredients and the pizza dough is made in house and is out of this world. I read a review saying that the pizzas were expensive and the toilet was outside; however I've paid a similar price for pizza at chain restaurants in the past and had the blandest of experiences, in soulless establishments with robotic staff only there for a pay check. At Monellis the staff radiate passion and enthusiasm for their craft which only adds to the experience. The fact that the toilet was outside, tucked around a corner hidden away added to the appeal as my daughter and I played a game finding it. As far as toilets go, this was clean and even had a potted plant in it so no complaints from me. Finally, Monellis is set in the perfect location, just behind the main drag of the sea front, surrounded by quaint and quirky shops. Not a chain store in sight! They don't take bookings but it's so worth hanging around until there is space. Whenever we are next in Hastings Old Town, we will certainly be back. If only there was a Monellis in Milton Keynes!More

Five star pizza! I’ve had a great chat with Francesco (the owner) that somehow came to the subject of time traveling (if you read this: you still owe me the name of the movie!). Sticking to that theme for this review: I wish I had...a Time Machine! so me and me family could forever go back to the moment we walked in this lovely restaurant! The best ‘Nduja Pizza we’ve ever had and the kids loved the Margherita. The vino della casa was also great 👍 Monellis definitely deserves the number one spot in Hastings! If I ever invent my Time Machine I will only use it for the good cause: eating Pizza at Monellis 4ever!More

After being in Hastings for a couple days, we were struggling to find and authentic/traditional restaurant that served food that they were proud of. After some strolling and dipping in and out of restaurants we came across Monellis... and what can i say? Not only...the best pizza we have ever had, but the service that came along with this amazing meal was exceptional. Which overall made our experience very memorable. We would love to say a big thankyou to all the staff and to let them know to keep a table free as we will be back soon :)More
