Dropped into this very traditional pub while browsing around the town, such a pleasant surprise, a really good roast, with excellent veg selection, well cooked and presented. Friendly bar staff and nice surroundings. Would highly recommend.
The chef is absolutely amazing beautiful food. One bar staff rather rude on the telephone and also whilst there as he wouldn’t move of the pavement for our disabled friend which then he had to struggle and walk on the road to struggle back on...More
Visited on a Saturday at lunchtime. As there was no room downstairs, we headed upstairs to the slightly ‘forgotten’ room. Although the surroundings may have been dated, the food and drinks were great. We had a veggie sharing platter and a bowl of (very) cheesy...More
I always come here before a game at the Amex as it offers (relative) peace, great selection of beers, particularly real ales, and has a wide menu. Service is usually very good and there is almost always somewhere to sit. Reasonably priced
This is a pub with some character, good food & beer choices. First time I have seen a vegan and vegetarian nut roast on the same menu. Also spotted my first Ploughmans lunch for many years, amongst many tempting options. Well worth the ten miles...More

Three South Downs Way walkers were directed here by our excellent B&B Berkeley House in Albion St. We all had wonderful baked sea bass washed down with a variety of local beers. This pub has a friendly atmosphere and allows dogs.
So I’ve only had a burger here but it was pretty boring and bland with a bap that was overly floury and dry, so haven’t been tempted to try much else. The other photos look good but not sure when the were take.
