Excellent atmosphere & decor. The sun terrace & dining area (@3pmSat) were closed, unfortunate, but very willing for a return visit to review the food & other closed areas. Many Harvey's brewery on tap along with many fine wines, ciders, cocktail menu and speciality beverages. Professional, approachable, interesting & knowledgable staff. + family friendly.

I suppose when you like something it is a bit irritating when you find the menu has changed. Two items I particularly liked were the baked camembert starter and the Harvey's batter fish and chips. The theme remains the same, but now you have a camember tartlet and the fish and chips although still has Harvey's beer batter it also... More

Lovely pub, bigger than you think from the outside. Nice, homely, great choice of spirits and they know how to make a proper gin and tonic!

Met friends for lunch. The bar has a great atmosphere when you walk in. We had booked and we sat down on a Saturday at about 2pm. The pub has a dining room away from the bar which was fine except for the fact that for the most part we were the only ones in there. I am sure on... More

Amazing Sunday roast, highly recommend it. Meat & all the veg were fab. Really good service from the staff too. The only reason I went is from good reviews on here, hence doing one myself!! Keep up the good work!

Popped in for a quick bite on a cold Saturday afternoon. It's a real old style wooden pub, packed with character. My partner and I each had a sandwich (his was salted beef and mine was artichoke & pesto). Both were delicious...would definitely go back

The Rights of Man was recommended by our Solicitors Secretary as a nice place for Lunch. As she explained the Pub hasn't much street appeal but it does good tasty food. I had the Lamb Shanks, two large Lamb shanks with Mash,Broccoli garlic and a very tasty gravy. My Wife ordered a Fish Finger Sandwich. These were 3 large strips of fish cooked in... More

Went yesterday for a simply fabulous roast. I had plenty of tender salt marsh lamb and S had slow cooked pork belly with crackling. We counted 10 components on our plates (you share cauli cheese, butternut puree and spiced red cabbage) and there was also ample roasties, parsnip, carrots, tenderstem broc and green beans. You could tell the greens had... More

A nice and friendly pub with lots of locals of all ages. Dining room at the back. It's not fancy, in fact it's quite basic, but the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. It was chosen at random, but we would def go again if in the area.
