We had a lovely relaxed evening at this wonderful Italian restaurant. Both the food and the ambience were a spot on Tuscan experience. We have had several holidays in Tuscany and the Tuscan rye would not be out of place.Everything from the olives on to the desserts were delicious. As a wine lover the array of especially red wines from the region... We dropped in for a quick meal ahead of the cinema. They could not have been more accommodating. Although we had no reservation we were quickly found a nice table for two, the menu was brought immediately, food served quickly was tasty and interesting - including rabbit for me and salt cod for my partner and we were out after... Visited tonight with the wife and a friend. The food was amazing. Every course was delicious and fresh. The service was wonderful and it was a truly amazing evening. We would have given more than 5 stars if we could and we will be back. A real gem - give it a try , you won't be disappointed

We revisited the Tuscan on a busy Saturday night and once again it was perfect from the offset! We where greeted by Jenny and her fabulous team (Michael & Tom) and shown to our table. I started with the Antipasto and my partner had the Caprese both where perfect and a good portion size! Following our starters we had the... More

My partner and I were very excited to have finally managed to make a booking at the Tuscan Kitchen, especially for Valentine’s day. We arrived and were taken to our table at the back of the restaurant which seemed quieter than the main areas. After some time, a waiter, Michael, came to take our drink order. We were slightly on... Thank you for your review and I apologise you did not enjoy your evening. After investigation some point of fact. On punctual arrival 7.30pm Signora you were accompanied to your table. A secluded table had been requested by your dining companion. Signor your arrived late. Drinks were brought to your table and your order taken. The time on the order... More

Fortunately got in to this wonderful restaurant after a cancellation. From the moment we arrived for our 23rd anniversary Jennifer was warm and attentive and talked enthusiastically about the menu like it was her first day. Jen's passion for what she does is a rare treat in a corporate, instant gratification, chilled meal culinary world. We were spoiled for choice.... More

Great mains but quite bland starters, also deep fried vegetables, beans or creamy fennel as the only veg choices? Very old fashioned interior but ok on the whole

We dined there on a cold February night and the warm friendly welcome was great. Our reserved table was in a good position but if you have poor eyesight, take a torch and a magnifying glass for the placemat menu, as I found it very difficult to read even with my glasses on and my husband had to read it... Dear Terry E, Thank you for visiting Tuscan Rye and taking the time to write a review on Trip Advisor. I am delighted to hear you thoroughly enjoyed our Antipasto Toscano and found other dishes were excellent. I am sorry you felt your overall experience was spoilt which disappoints me greatly. Return visit and once again cracking meal. Addicted to Truffle this is the place to go. First antipasto to share followed by truffle pasta to follow Tagliata with Gamberoni. Heaven on a plate. We have booked for St Valentines. I have just read the last review and would mention we sat on the table next to this couple. The owner... More

Dear tuscanholidays, It is always a pleasure to read reviews from returning customers. The set sharing menu is a great introduction to the Tuscan and good value for money. Thank you for returning two evenings in a row. I note you have made a reservation for dinner on St Valentines. I am certain the atmosphere will be much more relaxed... More

After reading so many good reviews, we booked a table Friday night!! All I can say is I'm amazed at the attitude of one of the staff members! My husband ordered pear and walnut salad for starters, as I couldn't find anything to take my fancy, I asked the waiter if I could order the king prawns ( main course... More

Dear Swoodsevenoak, Thank you for taking the time to write on Trip Advisor. We were delighted to be able to accommodate you on the off chance on Friday evening. We are saddened you could not find anything (in your words) to "take your fancy" on our menú and disappointed your visit was not a perfect one. Tuscan Rye prides itself... More

A must visit, former owners and founders return to Rye. Florentine chef Franco and Jen take you straight back to a day in Tuscany. Whether you want a moment to relax or stay and linger, they welcome you to their home and kitchen. Recipes past down generations from the pages of an old family book to savour and enjoy. Wine is as important as food here and there is an extensive list of Tuscan region wines. Lion Street is tucked away leading to St Mary's Church in the heart of Rye.
