We booked late in the afternoon and had an excellent dinner. The service was amazing. Thank you to all of the staff for making our evening so amazing. Especially your quick reaction to our revelation that one of us was celebrating a birthday. You're great, the Plough Team, thanks and keep on keeping on!!!

We are regulars to the Plough and have never had a bad meal. The staff are superb. Menu changes regularly ( which is a plus point if you go as regular as us ) Whenever we have friends visit we always bring them here and always the same reaction... FANTASTIC

Came for a bit of food on a Friday. There was live music, which was superb. The tapas were amazing. Beetroot arancini! Grace was the best. Simon was quite good as well.

We visited The Plough totally randomly when staying in Rye. It overlooks the rolling hills and fields of East Sussex, with the sea in the distance. The sun was just setting and this was the start of a beautiful evening. I could go into detail about the food and service but it doesn't need a long review. The lovely people... More

Had a perfect evening in the plough with very friendly and attentive staff. Made us feel like locals and the food was amazing. We opted for various tapas dishes and all of them were delicious. Will definitely come back!

Second visit to The Plough and wasn't disappointed. Standards were equally as high as on our previous visit which shows great consistency. We were greeted with a free glass of pink champagne followed by a delicious three course meal. Pigeon and Chorizo starter was superb, followed by the biggest T-bone steaks we've seen in a long time! Cooked to perfection,... More

Visited with husband and some friends for a spot of lunch. The Plough has a very friendly atmosphere and great layout of tables and very clean. The food was delicious and nicely presented, we had tapas which was a perfect amount for us all. The staff are wonderful and I would recommend this place to everyone.

We had the most amazing experience at The Plough. We've decided to go there for its good rating on TripAdvisor after an exhausting day on the beach with kids. The staff was extremely friendly, the owner gave us the warmest welcome - even played tracks from our national music to entertain us as he said 'it's all about the details... More

This is without doubt one of the best places in the whole area. The food is fabulous, atmosphere is wonderful and such a pleasant place to spend a weekend lunch or dinner. We often walk up across the hills and despite our dogs and muddy boots we are always welcomed! Keep up the great work

Description
The Plough is a quintessential English country pub with stunning views from our pond side garden over the Brede Valley with the sea as a backdrop. Situated on the Kent and East Sussex border and less than two miles from the medieval town of Rye, we enjoy a fantastic larder of local produce, from the freshest of fish landed in Rye and Hastings every day, to the wonderful delights from the Romney Marsh such as lamb and beef as well as the best of seasonal vegetables. With all this on our doorstep, we offer a good choice of local beers, ciders, wines and freshly prepared food, from our tapas, to our original choice of freshly prepared dishes and our homemade ice creams.
