Location and contact

Newly Refurbished: The William The Conqueror is a family-friendly pub on the banks of the River Rother. Situated in bustling Rye Harbour, it is the perfect place to while away some time watching the world go by. The harbour is home to a Nature Reserve and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest so there is plenty of wildlife to spot. As the Pub name suggests, the area is famous for being the site of the Norman invasion, and there are countless references locally for history fans. The pub is popular for its Real Ales and has featured in the Good Pub Guide. The new and improved Menu features dishes from around the world, with emphasis on locally sourced Fish and Mediterranean Specialities. Dogs

I needed gluten free, so chose the Aubergine and Courgette Bake with Cheese Melt. It came with a 'Greek Salad' for £9.49. There were a number of things wrong: there was very little aubergine or courgette but loads of strong cheese, which completely overwhelmed the...More

Called in for lunch after a walk in the nature reserve. Although a very cold day, the two open fires were not lit and the pub was very cold. There was only one person behind the bar and she was struggling as the pub was...More

Unfortunately we do not hold the right take away wrappings to offer this service. You are more than welcome to book a table - if you call 01797 223315 - ask for Luke (the General Manager)
