The food is amazing - definitely my new favourite restaurant in Cheltenham! There is just too much choice, I’ve still not managed to try all the things I want to on the menu and I have been loads of times! We took a table of 12, and ordered a selection of starters suggested by the staff. They were all fabulous and we were so full that finding space for the delicious main courses was a challenge. The bill came to £35 a head, including beers and more food than we could eat, so was exceptional value as well

We went along for a Sunday lunch buffet. The food had the same amazing flavours as the usual menu. You could return as often as you liked. The starters included the gorgeous Bhel Pouri as well as Dosa, made fresh right in front of you. There was a large selection of main dishes catering for all tastes and diets, all kept piping hot - as as usual the nan bread was exceptional. We were surprised that the buffet also included a good choice of small desserts and particularly liked the jelly (rosewater jelly we think). There were four of us and each of us ate a little too much and enjoyed every bite. It was amazing value at £14.95 per person. It is just on Sundays that the buffet is on offer but go any time if you enjoy a variety of flavours. It's Indian but not as you know it!

A planned Sunday lunch got even better when we were offered an all you can eat for £17.99.......... The service was great and the good hot and tasty. There was a great choice of starters and mains with all the favourites and more. Highlights for us was the chicken lollipops, fried fish and Pakoras. The chicken Biriyani and butter chicken were excellent. Mopped up with tasty butter naan... If you've not been you're missing out

Lots of good things here. Range of dishes was good with vegetarian and meat options. It was a bit like Indian tapas and we ordered 3 dishes each. All varied in heat and textures which was great. I’m a big Dosa fan and this was a really big dosa! In all honesty we ordered way more than we could eat as although described as small plates they were all quite big. I can honestly say I enjoyed all of it. Service was good too and the decor was great too.

From the kind welcome we always receive to the stunning food, we are regulars to this great place and cannot fault anything. The menu offers a great selection of quality, tasty dishes with plenty of options for meat eaters, vegans and vegetarians. It's also excellent value for money. Aside from the fantastic food, what stands out most is the wonderful service. The staff are very discreet in keeping their distance while you chat and enjoy your meal but are immediately on hand if they see your plates need clearing or drinks are getting low. A special mention must go to the lovely Tanvir (from Bangladesh) who looks after us so well. When my husband forgot his glasses and was struggling to read the menu, Tanvir came straight over with a pair of reading glasses for him. He's a true gentleman! Huge praise also to the chefs for producing such wonderful dishes. Highly recommended.

This was our 3rd visit, and this place is just so good, they have a terrific menu based around Indian street food small “tapas like dishes” with an excellent choice, they also do traditional curries again with a unique style. We shared 3 different starters, all absolutely delicious, and then 2 larger dishes a fish and paneer tikka, both really tasty, a nice fresh nan bread and two pints of cobra, both full and change from £40, terrific value, no wonder it was packed even on a Sunday night! Will return.

If you can't get in, try their takeaway sister, Bombay & Co Express, some doors down across the street at the intersection/ It has a few tables and though the bowls and utensils may be disposable (and recyclable), the food is outstanding and very easy on the wallet. Try the Dal Khasta Kachori Chaat. That dish had put a smile on our faces all the way home.

Very good. Disappointed for the first time considering have had food so many times. Takeaway order was incomplete and did not get a chance to read the order when we arrived to get the takeaway which could have resolved while waiting half n hour after our collection time. Even when we got home even more items were missing. Suggest the phone is put somewhere quiet and if not able to get takeaway orders completed properly do not take orders. Delivery service would be great

We first visited this quirky eatery a few years back and as we were back in the area, made a beeline for it. As we approached we were somewhat dismayed to see no lights but were delighted that a sign in the door indicated relocation to new premises. Off we went to track this down. Our perseverance paid off: the new restaurant though less quirky in character was more than compensated by the delicious food and warmth of service. As it was a Sunday, a buffet was available and we were thoroughly spoilt with many dishes available for us to choose from along with a complimentary basket of fun far far snacks. Food was fragrant, fresh and hit the right notes as far as chilli heat goes. Looking forward to returning again, this time sooner.

Restaurant was very busy and everyone talking, would have been better without the loud music playing. The noise was overwhelming. The menu is very impressive, everything labelled for GF /DF . Even tells you about nuts and sesame seeds etc. So easy for me to find something to eat, I'm GF and can't eat cashews. Meal was lovely. But when it came to dessert, there was only 4 to choose from but they ALL contained wheat flour. So while the other 3 in my group had a dessert I sat there with nothing. They couldn't even offer me ice-cream. Surely keeping a tub off ice-cream in for this situation wouldn't be to difficult, I realise it's not orthentic Indian food, but would have given me something so I didn't feel awkward. But after the effort made on there very large menu they've made no effort on the dessert menu. Hence my disappointed title for this review.

Hi We understand your frustration on Dessert menu, but we had kulfi on our menu which is during summer period which we serve from Mid May to September. And in terms of noise , it was busy restaurant with half terms which is out of anyone control. But we did our best on the day to give top notch service and food which you agree too. Some friends recommended Bombay & Co, and we were not disappointed. Do not be put off by the univiting exterior and the simple decor inside; the food is the star of the show. You must try melt in the mouth gorgeous semolina parcels, fried fish and prawns as starters (they recommend 2 starters each); delicious Indian street food. My partner had the spiced bassa curry for main course and naan stuffed with cheese ( I thought that was a weird filling to have with the food, and not to my taste, but she chose it and enjoyed it). I had the beautifully tender lamb bhuna gosht with pilau rice, cooked to madras strength, but you have to ask for this if you like it extra spicy. They only appear to do two evening sittings, 6 and 8.00; I think we'll try to go for the earlier sitting next time. Service was very slow; we didn't finish our mains until 10.30; too late for me, but the food was well worth waiting for. The beer is horrendously expensive; we opted for the wine, reasonably priced.

Bombay and Co is our family’s favourite restaurant - the service is first class and the food is the best Indian in Cheltenham (in our opinion). Really good value for money and the food quality is top notch. Our VERY fussy 12 year old loves the menu and often asks us to order more - something she never does! If you’re vegetarian there’s loads of choice. Simply can’t recommend enough.

I booked for a Saturday night dinner months ago when we originally booked to stay the weekend in Cheltenham. The reviews were very good, so I expected something special. As it was, I thought it was a fairly standard Indian restaurant. MY wife and I ordered the lamb chops and prawns for a starter, followed by a Lamb Bhuna Gohst and Lamb Biryani for mains The prawns were reasonably tasty and freshly cooked. the presentation was poor, a little salad on the side might have made them more attractive to look at. The Lamb Chops weren't lamb at all but mutton chops, so fairly tough and not easy to tackle with a standard knife & fork. The manager asked if our food was all right just after we had finished the starters and I mentioned that the chops are not lamb, but mutton. He said they are supplied by a Halal butcher who sells them as such, but they clearly do not meet the British definition of a "lamb chop". I have eaten proper lamb chops in a number of Indian restaurants, and countless mutton chops, but when they are mutton they need to be tenderised and sold as such The Lamb Biryani was packed full of tender lamb meat but lacked much flavour. It needed a greater use of spice and perhaps some fresh green chilli, which can always be served on a side plate for addition into the biryani if desired? The Lamb Bhuna was also nice tender meat, but again had been made with British palates in mind so lacked any real depth of flavour and no spicy heat whatsoever. Perhaps our tastes are a little out of the ordinary, given we are surrounded by many Sikh restaurants in our home town, and so are more used to spicier food? This may be the case but if you enjoy spicy Indian food, you probably best go somewhere else.

Hi Thank you for your review 🙏 What you have written is was is liking to your taste. As you mentioned we are not fine dining restaurant we are very basic street food concept restaurant hence the presentation is basic, but we can take it has feedback to learn something. In terms of food yes our spice level suits the most, and if you would have requested to make it the way you like we would have make it more spicer especially for you. Lamb chop we have been sold out on Saturday night and not a single feedback about been chewy or so, but again it's your liking, mutton lamb chops are more tough, definitely we don't use mutton chops. Anyway your liking and appetite sound like those who pretend to sell indian curry but are not indian. Our spice our menu our staff our chef are all from India. Regards BombayandCo

On a short break in the Cotswolds, we thought the street food of Bombaynco sounded interesting, so booked a table. The service at the restaurant was very friendly and helpful, offering to suggest dishes if we could not choose from the options offered. Within 10 mins of being seated, we were so glad we booked as all tables were full, which seemed a good omen. As we started to eat, we quickly realised that every Indian meal we would eat from now on would be a disappointment. The food here is exquisite, none of us had ever had such lovely tasting Indian food. We started to chat to another diner and her daughter, who were so pleased to have found the restaurant as they had lived in India for a few years, and said the dishes they had eaten were the most authentic they had come across since returning to the U.K. Lucky for them, they will now make it their local. We certainly wish it could be ours. A very special restaurant.

I’m gutted to write this! We have been to Bombay and co a number of times at their old location and always had an incredible meal. T It’s always been authentic delicious and served to us with excellent customer service. Tonight we returned at the new location and I was so looking forward to their wonderful Lamb Biryani. Unfortunately, it was less that impressive. Fatty, dry and not all like the last time I had it. Last time, it felt individually cooked- authentic, in layers of rice onion and meat. Tonight however, it was like someone had mixed in dry meat into a spicy pilau rice. I’m so disappointed. It feels as though they have gotten greedy and cut corners. I will give it another go because I’m praying I’m wrong- but I’m not overly hopeful!
