StarBistro is no ordinary bistro; we offer delicious dishes made from the finest local and seasonal ingredients, whilst enabling young people with disabilities, the chance to gain real-life work experience and skills. Delicious Breakfasts, Lunches and Lite Bites, Morning Coffee & Homemade Cakes and Traditional Afternoon Teas (Afternoon Teas do require to be pre-booked). Children and Special dietary requirements catered for. Located at National Star College on The Cotswold Way - Free parking - Free Wi-Fi. Open Monday-Friday, all year round. As always there is a warm welcome at the Star Bistro, Simon and his team make you feel you are getting a very personal service.
The Asian evening was delicious, a variety of dishes to try all beautifully presented (not easy to make a buffet look appetising) well done to Joe and his team. The Ramen noodle bowls were amazing!

The Star Bistro is a little gem in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a great place for walkers and visitors to pop in and have an excellent breakfast, lunch or tea at very reasonable prices.
I had lunch with friends a few days ago and I thought the quality was excellent and even surpassed a lunch I had the previous day at a four star hotel restaurant.
If you want just a coffee or tea though, you must try the range of cakes. The brownie will give you the ultimate chocolate experience, while the rhubarb and custard blondie is unforgettable.
But perhaps the best thing is that it is run by a very professional catering team who support the students in their work experience programmes. The atmosphere is lovely and everyone is very friendly and welcoming.

I recently contacted starbistro with a request of a bespoke cream tea as a takeaway for my my wife’s birthday. They did not disappoint. After liaising with chef joe he was able to come up with a menu full of tasty treats to celebrate the occasion. Joe created a host of sweet treats that included baklava filled choux buns, cherry and dark chocolate ganache tartlets, mixed berry and creme patisserie tartlet and mixed flavoured macrons. Balanced with some lighter than air buttermilk scones with clotted cream and preserves. This is made my wife’s lockdown birthday very special and I cannot thank joe, simon and the team enough. Excellent service, fabulous value and I’m very much going to be first in the cue when the bistro opens up to visitors again.

Excellent food, with something for everyone, to celebrate Chinese New Year. Such a variety and selection of food no-one needed to come away feeling hungry. The Chinese lanterns decorating the room and music added to the atmosphere. There were little details to make the evening special like the saki and fortune cookies. We certainly look forward to the next themed evening.

We had an afternoon tea at the Star Bistro today with about 40 work colleagues. What a fantastic location! They gave our group free dedicated parking near the entrance. We received a warm welcome and had friendly and professional service throughout. Everything was laid out lovely and we had the perfect selection of sandwiches, bite size cakes, macaroons and scones with clotted cream and jam. They served us with coffee and water and we had a pot of tea for each table. I couldn't fault it for a work event and I will pop in again for lunch next time I'm in the area. I can highly recommend it.

We were welcomed to a lovely Christmas lunch, both vegetarian and traditional turkey meals were both generous and beautifully presented.
Preceded by mulled drinks both alcoholic and alcohol free, and followed with delicious mince pie creations.
The final flourish with hot drinks were tasty sweet treats, some of which travelled home with us as we were quite comfortably full.
Service from staff and students was unhurried and as always attentive and friendly. The decoration of the table and chairs together with traditional crackers completed the visit with some flair.

We live nearby and often visit the Star Bistro for lunch. Delicious food prepared by expert chefs who are teaching the college's students. There are always gluten free options and meals to suit all appetites.

Freshly prepared food at a very reasonable price, attentive friendly staff, clean bright light restaurant with outside terrace area, good range of menu items for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. Cakes on display look divine!
Plenty of car parking, lovely setting, ideal place in this locality whether for family or friends, highly recommended, a hidden gem

Love the soup and bread rolls, the chef does the lightest battered fish with amazing crunchy chips…. delicious lunch as always. Simon and team are friendly and attentive…

I have visited Star Bistro on several occasions and am so pleased to see that post Covid, the standard is as good as it always has been.
Staff are attentive without being overbearing and the food is presented beautifully. Star Bistro has a winning formula - good food in lovely surroundings with excellent service and high standards of hygiene.
The bistro is a perfect place for meeting with friends as well as an ideal venue for corporate occasions.

Star bistro…. Excellent in every way. A warm welcome guaranteed, staff who are focussed and passionate in supporting young adults with additional needs, food served to perfection in a pleasant, relaxing environment…. What’s not to like??
Two of us visited and enjoyed a lamb dish. Absolutely lovely.
Plenty of space between tables which easily accommodate a visitor with a wheelchair or mobility aid and the access to spotless, unrivalled disabled facilities make it a very inclusive venue.
Don’t take my word for it, visit…and see for yourself. I highly recommend.

Great coffee and super lunch! We had originally planned to walk our dogs up the hill from Leckhampton so that we had 'earned' our lunch on a mid week day off for my husband's birthday. However, the weather meant we had to adjust our plans and drive up to the Bistro.
Between the three of us we enjoyed a chicken wrap, vegan burger and roasted squash salad. All delicious. Our daughter insisted we have cake to celebrate Dad's birthday and so we shared a chocolate fudge cake and a vegan chocolate cake. It was all really tasty and well presented.
Lovely service from all staff - thank you.
We do intend to try the dog walk followed by lunch later in the Spring - when we will make use of your covered patio. We have also recommended you to other friends who live locally - I am just sorry we have not discovered you sooner! Thank you for a great birthday lunch.

What a change, and not for the better. I have enjoyed lunch here in the past, but not this time. The menu is significantly reduced, most of the attractive options have gone. I chose fish and chips and regretted it - it seemed cooked well enough but I felt uncomfortable all afternoon. I won't go back unless the menu improves.

The menu is sometimes reduced over the summer months to allow for staffing levels, however there is always the Lite Bites menu and the reduced main menu does still have many of our most popular dishes available. I met an old friend for coffee recently and once again the service and ambience was excellent, far outstripping many other local and more expensive venues. It has now become my number one place to take out friends. I have had lunch there a number of times and each time it was superb. But if you just want coffee, I thoroughly recommend having an accompanying cake as the cakes are amazing. The Bistro is also vegetarian and vegan friendly which means it can attract a wide clientele. The staff are just lovely and all profits help fund the College, which does amazing work with disabled people. So just go there and you won't be disappointed.

We try to ensure that everyone has the best possible experience when visiting us at StarBistro; be it the students serving you or it is the StarBistro Mentoring Team that work very hard with the students, which is not always when the public come and visit us, so do not always understand what we are here for, which is what we are working on this Academic Year to have more Students, more of the time in the area.

Fabulous lunch! We took advantage of the asparagus 'specials' on the menu to celebrate the start of the local asparagus season. I ordered poached eggs with asparagus, neither of which are the easiest of foods to cook and get right at the best of times, but these were prepared and cooked to perfection and were so beautifully presented on the plate.
Star Bistro is a delightful, friendly and hugely competent food venue - would 100% recommend.
