Again I am at odds with the majority of reviewers it would seem. If you want old fashioned decor, strange, taste lacking, food combinations then this is the place for you. If prawn cocktail with banana, pate with kiwi fruit covered in paprika, braised tasteless duck and dried up bass with minimalist vegetables is your thing then you must visit this... More

Really don't want to give a good review because I don't want anyone else knowing how fabulous this restaurant is in case I can't get booked in! Food and service amazing and the restaurant itself wonderfully comfortable and relaxed. We were made so welcome and can't wait to go back

Seven of us had lunch, including my 92 year old wheelchair bound mother. The whole experience from booking by phone, to finding a reserved named parking space due wheelchair, to quality of food, and caring attitude of staff, was outstanding. Many of us had roast lamb which was the highest quality I have had for a long time. I had... More

A party of 13 of us met for Mother's 80th birthday and both the food and service were superb. One of our number got lost and the staff kept food warm and managed to delay one of the courses for her to catch up. Diana was calm and efficient and we had an absolutely lovely time. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful Christmas meal here with friends last evening, it was just perfect, Diana and Sean know exactly what their customers like. The trout for the first course was amazing as was the venison and halibut for the main courses. Others had different meals and were equally delighted. As for the puds, what a lovely selection, so difficult to... More

This is a fantastic place to eat if you want something that is not the same as everywhere else. Two rooms of nicknacks and curiosities might make you think that the food will be old fashioned too, but on every occasion that I have eaten here, the food has been of a high quality and flavoursome. Well worth a visit.

We booked a table for dinner for a birthday celebration after passing it on many occasions. The place is tucked away off the road and is easy to find. The dining space is small but there was ample room around our table when we visited. It is rather like going to friends for supper - and it was very friendly... More

15 of us had a delicious 2 course lunch at this unique dining experience. Everything is home made and contains locally sourced ingredients. Courses are always delicious and desserts are to die for. Diana looked after us very well and her husband Sean cooked the lovely food. They also cater for special occasions. Booking recommended. Value for money!

Not sure what to expect, but having read the reviews decided to take our adult family of four for dinner. A very quaint building with loads of character in small, but well-cared for gardens. We were invited in by the owner, a very polite and friendly lady. We would have liked our pre-dinner drinks in a sitting-room or lounge, but... More

This is a lovely place with enormous charm and old fashioned elegance. Very warm welcome to our rather noisy group of nine retirees. What a tremendous choice and quality of food! Everyone agreed it was first class. Thank you
