(Veggie review) Clearly the staff at Gianni's are all Italian but we thought the dishes had been anglicised a bit - pasta a bit softer and sauces a bit blander than we'd expect. But, it was a pleasant meal out. We shared a Caprese to...start which was lovely. Then a Spaghetti Napoli and Tagliatelle Ortolana. We then shared an ice cream with espresso over the top.More

Genuine Italian restaurant with excellent food. The main courses were accompanies by interesting, beautifully cooked veg. Simialr price but much better than the many chains present in Cheltenham

Booked for 2 people, seated immediately upon arrival with a warm welcome. Menus arrived with no pressure to order quickly, so drinks were served whilst we mulled over the extensive menu with lots of vegetarian options too. Great to see Gin Mare on the drinks...menu - what a treat. Bruschetta starter was amazing, infused oil dressing with subtle basil flavour. Chicken Valdostana is my go to, and once you've tasted this, you'll be hard pressed to choose anything else. The chicken is cooked to perfection with parma ham on top, all accompanied by the best sauce I've ever tasted - honestly. The service is top notch, friendly and offer great advice if you're undecided on choice. This is our first on list for Italian restaurants in Gloucestershire, not just Cheltenham. If you haven't ever visited, you're missing out!! Thank you Giannis again and again for superb food, service and ambiance. Can't wait to see you again soon. AnjieMore

Short notice booking for a Saturday evening. We were told a table was available but only for 2 hours. As we had been unable to book a table in several other restaurants we were happy to be able to get this table. As it turned...out, we only needed it for 1hr and 40 minutes anyway. At no point did we feel pressured to have our food finished. The service was excellent, the food hot and delicious and the ambiance just right. Drink ordered and delivered quickly, we ordered our starters. Starters were just garlic bread. These were a little different from typical Italian garlic bread, but we ate them and enjoyed them. For main course we ordered a pasta dish, a steak dish and two chicken dishes. All served hot and delicious. My daughters steak was cooked to perfection (medium) and the veg accompaniment to the chicken and steak dishes were tasty and hot also. Cost for 2 courses + drinks for 4 people + tip was £90. Great meal, great service, lovely restaurant. Honestly, if we lived closer, we’d be back here regularly.More

A cracking dining experience, food was very good and the service is spot on from an excellent team. We were surprised how busy the restaurant was on a Tuesday evening but that created a special atmosphere so a good time was had by all.

We picked Gianni for our wedding anniversary dinner as it looked on-line to be our sort of place. We love Italian food and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant was full which, considering it was a Monday night speaks volumes. The food was excellent and the...staff absolutely lovely. I would absolutely recommend a visit but really advise booking in advance, as we did,. Good eateries fill up quickly.More

Went here last night to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Once we told them , glass of fizz appeared which was lovely . The meal was just wonderful. Lovely atmosphere, plenty of diners for a Monday evening. Couldn’t fault it.

This is not the first time I've been to Giannis, far from it! But it's the first time I'm doing a long overdue review. This place is fantastic, simply the best Italian place to visit in Chelt. If you are a pasta lover (or fillet...steak lover!) then you should come here. The staff have always been friendly and the service in general has always been good -they don't hang around, food tends to come quick. Prices I find are reasonable enough. My favorite dish by far is the Penne al Radicchio, the combination of port and cream as a sauce is so unexpected but works so well!More
