Visited this evening with my family, my brother and his wife. We had been some years ago and had an excellent experience and were not disappointed on this occasion. The staff were very welcoming when we arrived and were polite and friendly throughout the meal. The menu offers far more than the usual fare offered at Indian restaurants, with something suitable for each palate. The naans are some of the lightest and best I've had, the wine list suitably limited to make choosing easier, (with prices that are not over inflated so don't increase the overall cost of the meal) and the food of excellent quality. The staff were attentive without being overly obsequious or intrusive and the food served in a very timely fashion. We had plenty of time to chat with family we haven't seen for a long time and at the end of the meal did not feel rushed to pay and leave. The bill at the end of the night was appropriate and was under £30/head even with a couple of bottles of wine. Overall an excellent experience and one I would highly recommend to anyone.

Excellent food, good service, friendly, relaxed atmosphere, spotlessly clean environment. We chose vegetarian options and everything was nicely spiced and cooked perfectly. The onion Bhaji was the best I’ve ever eaten. The meal was so good we went back the next day for a second helping. Highly recommended.

First the bad bits: common to many Indian restaurants the pickle tray arrived without us ordering it but the bill charged us £3+ for it, so we didn't leave a tip; the onion bhajee was poor, tasteless and greasy which my wife suggests was due to a lack of cummin and white pepper combined with not enough gram flour and fried in oil which was not hot enough. After that everything was super: my Goan Chicken was hot and tasty, my wife had chicken biryani with vegetable curry which was not very saucy/wet but tasted good. Some unusual vegetables like French beans and broccoli. Friendly efficient staff.

In an effort to support local businesses during the current lockdown, we thought we'd treat ourselves to a takeaway rather than cooking. After researching which local places did collection or delivery we settled on the Rasoi as they had 10% off if you collected the food. I pulled up in the carpark at the designated time and called them to let them know I'd arrived, as their website tells you to. I was told my order wasn't ready and it would be ten minutes. Ok, no problem. It actually turned out to only be about five minutes and the staff member brought out our food to my car while keeping an appropriate distance. So far, so good. Unfortunately the experience kinda went downhill from here. We unpacked the tandoori mix, poppadoms and sauces we'd got for a starter only to notice the two pots of mint sauce AND tub of onion salad were frozen. And I don't mean a little frosted, they were completely frozen solid. Bizarre. I can almost understand the mint sauce, but how hard is it too chop some fresh onion at the start of the night? The tandoori mix was ok, quite tasty but the meat was bone dry. The mains were a bit better. I had the Kasturi lamb which was ok. I don't normally go for lamb in curries as I find it's normally dry and overcooked. This lamb was overcooked but not too badly. I wouldn't order this curry again but it was fine. My wife ordered the Northern chicken curry which she enjoyed. We also ordered a side of what they call 'dalrosun' which we assumed was dal as it was described as lentils with garlic. Again it wasn't bad but was totally forgettable, certainly not the tasty dish I've had from other places. The naan was also pretty uninspiring. Overall for over £50 worth of food I thought it was super disappointing. I'd eaten at the restaurant a couple of times previously and always found it just ok, but still felt compelled to give them another go. I don't think I will again.

Interesting dining experience, in that our chosen meals were good but the table service fell short on customer service. We may be naive, but also I’ve never dined out with neither an option for any desserts or even a coffee. The food was good, with the rice portion on the small side. When we finished we sat for some time wondering what next, and had to finally ask for the bill. On arrival we were greeted with a friendly smile from the owner/manager, and after being shown our table from there the service was efficient but quite blunt. The menu choice was good quite good, but interaction with the waiters was poor, certainly not service with a smile. Especially the male waiter. Staying in a cottage locally the Welcome Pack recommended the Rasoi, however the table service left us deflated and wishing we had chosen another local Indian Restaurant. Would we return again? No.

Always enjoyed eating here but takeaway beyond rubbish, Food was 30 minutes late and then the wrong order. A phone call later, where they said they would phone back and didn’t. After phoning them again got the response just eat what we sent you. You can have free curry next time. No apology or any interest in resolving. Mistakes happen but non-existent customer service cannot be excused. I expect the food ordered. Not cold food that sat their for 20 minutes whilst waiting for them to phone back. So meal of food I didn’t want including cold and chewy onion bhaji. Go elsewhere. Let’s see whether the cost is refunded.

We have ordered half a dozen take away meals from this restaurant during lockdown, their food has been great. They were 15 minutes late on a previous delivery - they called us, explained and gave us a bottle of beer - over and above what we’d expected, all happy. This time, our food was an hour late and the delivery driver made out we didn’t answer the door half an hour earlier (the person answering the phone having already told us they’d gone to the wrong address). Very disappointed with the poor service this time. When booking, you put a pin in a map and I even gave precise instructions where our house is. Be very wary when you book a time, their delivery drivers are seriously letting down a previously good restaurant. We booked during the afternoon so this wasn’t a last minute rush, very poor.

We booked a meal here when we stayed in Cirencester, there is a pay and display car park directly behind the restaurant. We were greeted by smiling waitresses with face shields on. We were socially distanced from other diners and were given a form to leave details if there was a case of Covid in the restaurant that evening. The food was tasty, hot and no long waits to be served. We had samosas and onion bhajis, the bhajis were great. I had a northern chicken curry which was nice. Plenty of vegetarian choices. Enjoyable relaxed evening.

Went to this restaurant with family thinking it will be nice Indian food but to our disappointment it wasn’t. The food was like eating sugar as they use coconut in all curries and all dishes were sweet. Best to avoid if you are looking for authentic Indian curries

Food was very good but the slightly overcooked salmon in the green fish curry prevents a 5* star review. Great staff, convenient position, nice atmosphere & pleasant surroundings. We’d recommend it & would certainly eat there again.

I live 18 miles away, and think Rasoi in Cirencester is worth travelling to for a take-away, for the higher standard of food than anything in my area. There's definitely something of a higher standard about it than run of the mill Indian food. I haven't eaten inside the restaurant yet, but it looks nice from what I saw when collecting. I've only ever ordered online and then collected myself, and it has still been hot and delicious when I got home. The website is easy to use for the payment online and no contact collection, if you park behind the restaurant.

This little restaurant has a nice, warm ambience and good service. We were drawn to the menu which has some different dishes to the usual Indian menus. I had king prawns which were delicious and my husband a hot lamb dish (sorry, I can't recall the names). A little more pricey than some Indians but very good flavours. Nice and clean and I would return if in the area.

We live in Lechlade about 15 miles from Cirencester and really wanted a night out and the concensus was “Indian” after a bit of research the Indian Rasoi came to our attention with good reviews. From the moment we arrived until we left, we were treated to a gourmet experience and hosted by the friendliest family business and staff you could ever wish to meet. Food was superb, the owners offered us bangladeshi samosa which they are considering adding to the menu, they were scrummy and very tasty. Really enjoyed the experience tonight and even discovered our hostess was born in Hillingdon hospital the same as our own family. Would we go back? 110% Yes just need and excuse Neil Lorraine and Mary

My wife and I had a beautiful meal here last night. The owners were really nice, the restaurant tables had linen cloths and napkins and decor have a quality feel. The menu was really interesting giving lots of reasons to repeat visit, especially as the meal was had had lovely flavour, not greasy at all and left no after rumbles in the tiny that one can sometimes get having eaten spicy food. We will be back, thank you.

We ate here as all the other restaurants were either closing or fully booked and WOW the food did not disappoint. We had two mains, rice and a vegetable dish to share between two of us. We eat Indian foods a lot and this was just sublime. Service was great and all the hosts were very friendly and their covid measures all in place. If you love good Indian food, then this is the place to go. Do not miss out on this place when in Cirencester
