Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I had a wonderful evening at Teatro ahead of going to the Barn theatre next door. The staff were delightful, ambiance lovely and great food too! Probably the most impressive element was that they were very busy, yet they knew we were...going to the show next door and our meals including dessert were timed to perfection so we didn’t need to clock watch. Just great, congrats to the whole teamMore

We have previously eaten in Teatro and would not have given such a glowing review. There has been a change of staff and what a difference it has made! The food was beautifully cooked- so thank you to the chef but the service was the...main joy! Thank you to Mihaela for her energy and attention. She makes the place fabulous!More

Pre theatre meal with our son and daughter in law before watching Chess the musical. Warm welcome as we arrived and shown to our table. The menu was a little different which was pleasing as we eat out reasonably regularly with family and friends around...the Cotswold area. We particularly enjoyed the lamb chops and a started called bang bang cauliflower. A lovely atmosphere and the restaurant was full. Its so perfect when you are 30 seconds from table to theatre door! Plus large car park opposite restaurant and theatre is free after 6pm. Staff were attentive, friendly but professional. Highly recommend. We have been before but not for a while and can thoroughly recommend Teatro for a relaxing time with very good food and service with the added bonus of the theatre next door.More

Lovely pre-theatre meal. I haven't been to Teatro before so was excited to see what it was like. We had a lovely welcome and the waiters were fantastic. Menu had good choice and I was particularly impressed by the variety of drinks including non alcoholic...drinks including mocktails. My friend and I shared a small bites to start- 3 little croquettes- delicious! Then I had the burger and she had the pork belly. Good portions and delicious. Too full for dessert but maybe next time I will chose a lighter main so i can fit in dessert. Loved the restaurant- decor and ambience. Then went next door for a wonderful show in the theatre. All in all a perfect birthday celebration- thank you.More

We were in Cirencester for a play at the Barn Theatre. Teatro is connected to the theatre and seemed an obvious place to have a pre theatre dinner. We were not disappointed. Food, ambience, service, all excellent. The restaurant did get busy so our only...recommendation would be to get your bill promptly if you have to make a theatre performance. All in all a very pleasant experience.More

Booked at Téatro for pre-theatre dinner, we were not disappointed. Made to feel very welcome on arrival and fantastic service throughout. Great atmosphere and decor, very happy with our table for six. Main courses excellent, food very good, clean plates all round! We did not...think the desserts were quite up to the standard of the main courses, my Baked Alaska was too sweet, although they were all eaten! Highly recommended restaurant.More

We’d invited friends, who’d never been to this restaurant (or theatre), to join us for a meal before the performance. We arrived early for our reservation, which was at 5.45pm. We ordered ‘nibbles’ instead of starters and even these took a long time to come....However, our main courses didn’t arrive until nearly 7.10pm! Every time we chased them up (from 6.30 onwards) we were told “they’re just coming”. No explanation was ever given for the delay, and the bill was just put on the table very shortly after the food. The food itself was good, but in order to get into the theatre on time we really had to bolt it down, and we couldn’t even finish, let alone have a dessert or coffee. Horribly rushed and horribly embarrassing to have invited friends to this shambles. We were not alone - other tables were also waiting and rushing. Unacceptable for a restaurant which offers a pre-theatre meal.More

Another pre-theatre dinner, easily booked online. A very popular place (maybe because I'm Sorry Prime Minister, I Can't Quite Remember was on at the Barn Theatre next door). I was slightly worried that the only table available was at 5.45pm but we were able to...have a drink in the bar, peruse the menus before heading through to the dining area, with plenty of time for a 7.30pm show start. Lots to chose from on the pre-theatre menu. Somewhat disappointed with the croquettes with aioli and the burger....mine was well on the rare side. However, the rest of the food was great and a very pleasant bottle of Romanian rosé. Professional & friendly staff, in particular a lovely Romanian lady who served us. We will definitely be back!More

We selected Teatro because it is joined to the theatre and meals are served with that in mind. Our starters were croquettes - which were very ordinary and Asian cauliflower - which was all batter, very oily and had no flavour. The Asian salad was...ok though. Our mains were the burger - which was dry, and served without the promised onion rings and with Luke warm fries. I had the fish of the day which was crispy cod on a broth base. Unfortunately, the cod looked like it was sitting in a bowl of milk with small cubes potatoes and carrots. It was completely tasteless, so much so that I asked the manager to taste it and to ask the chef too as well. He came back and agreed, it had no flavour at all. That £22 came off the bill, but it was then time for the theatre, so all I had eaten was some Asian salad. It was so disappointing and a complete waste of money.More

Not how Teatro used to be, such ashame. Staff unhappy, lack of training somewhat, ambience is dull, food was a let down overall, seems Chef dont care about the small details. Been coming here for 4 years, time to go somewhere else.
