Been here 3 times now , as we live far away ,and we are visiting friends. And we like to come to the sultan . the service and food has been amazing, can’t fault it in anyway , we had starters mains and drinks ,and...we all had a great evening. We are certainly looking forward to going again when we visit Cirencester Nx time .More
Fabulous meal at The Sultan. Service was great, very attentive. The food was outstanding - I had a dish new to me - a Pathila- and it was delicious. The Tikka and onion bhaji starters were served at the table from a hot plate on...a trolley which was a nice touch. The vegetable rice, naans and the curries chosen by the rest of us were also excellent. They use little hot plates (those ones with a tiny candle in) to keep food warm at your table which deserves extra mention as curry stays hot ready for you to have seconds! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.More

Visited Sultan last night with friends. Food was excellent - the best Indian dishes I have had for some time. Each dish had its own distinctive flavour which is so often not the case in some Indian restaurants. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and...the service was very good. We were unhurried throughout the meal and thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. The restaurant was almost full which speaks for itself. Very impressed and highly recommended.More
First time visiting this restaurant, easy to book a table online with quick response. Atmosphere was very relaxed and wasn’t rushed by the staff to order. Food was excellent, really tasty & good spice. Highly recommended!

Very nice restaurant situated up a flight of stairs. Staff polite and welcoming and no trouble to order something not on menu. Vegetable pathia with chana massala and bombay potatoes and steamed rice. Served piping hot and full of contrasting flavours-pathia nice balance of hot/sweet/sour....Fair prices and nice sized portions-all in all an excellent meal.More
Upstairs but worth the steps, best Indian rest in the town, great staff, great food, really rate this place, have had takeaway and dine in, all great. Go enjoy
We have visited this place twice while staying in Cirencester and both times have been a fab experience. The food is beautiful, the staff are lovely, all in all a place to definitely visit if you love Indian food. I wish we had a place...like this where we live, unfortunately not.More
Dine or takeaway the best Indian food in the area, had 20 meals here never a bad one. felt like the needed to know how good the place is, upstairs but you will not regret going.
The Sultan is a very friendly restaurant with great food and service. One of the 'House Specials' is Village Style Begon. Never had this before - it was very good. We asked about how it was cooked and were given details of what to do....Highly recommendedMore

We had a dupiaza and pathia with keema rice and nan bread food was absolutely gorgeous fresh n piping hot flavours was outstanding....Staff were very friendly also. My wife and I had dinner at Sultan on a busy Saturday night but even so, the service was very slow. When it eventually arrived the food was good but the whole experience was spoilt by the poor service. We noticed that they do a...lot of takeaway business which obviously impacts on the service in the dining room. They obviously need more kitchen staff to deal with the overall demand. On the plus side, the waiters were very friendly and the prices were reasonable.More
Don't be put off by the fact that this is above a Morrisons local and is very non descript when you first walk in. The welcome and service we received was excellent. It was very early, and so we didn't have to wait for long....We chose our usual poppadum's with the pickle tray, then I had Naga chicken and my wife had garlic chicken. We shared a mushroom rice and a peshwari nan. These are our go to dishes at a new Indian, as it is the best way to compare with other restaurants. At the Sultan, we were very impressed, portions were very generous and the spice level was excellent, I was speaking with one of the staff later who agreed with me, that the tendency is to go a little more mild until you know your customers, a great idea in my book and whereas mine could have carried a bit more spice, it was still an excellent curry. The price for the meal was really good value, as were the the drinks. It would be almost worth visiting Cirencester just for the curry!! The only thing I would say, is that a few paintings or something would be a nice touch, just so it is not like eating in Morrison's cafe.More
Great chotpoti, other dishes were lovely and plentifully Very friendly and helpful staff, I will definitely be going back after my first visit
