Our second visit. Lovely staff and compact but interesting menu. I've read a recent revue which said the place was 'cold'. All I can suggest is that, in part, may be due to the authors frosty attitude! (or maybe there's an ulterior motive we're not privy to) The food is good. Mrs Plonk loved her soufflé followed by a hake... More

We came across Jesse's bistro purely by accident. What a treasure it is ... Situated in a quaint little courtyard. The food was outstanding (soufflé starter amazing)!!! The mains were just as wonderful. The service fabulous and the ambiance just lovely. Jesses bistro has an open kitchen and a wood fired pizza stove the two chefs working on the day... More

You would expect a restaurant directly affiliated to a renowned butcher's shop and fishmonger's to serve up decent meat and fish. Not so. We went as a family for lunch on Saturday. At 2pm, there were few people eating although the town was very busy. The decor of this courtyard bistro is as one would expect: stone walls, rustic tables,... More

This is a lovely little restaurant with good food, a great cheese board and a decent wine list. I had the salmon and mackerel terrine followed by the venison. Both dishes were well presented and very tasty - although the terrine did need some additional seasoning. The only problem was that the service was very slow. The staff were all... More

Extremely good bistro tucked away behind Jesse Smith's butcher's shop. The food was beautifully cooked and presented,( I had hake, my wife venison) the atmosphere friendly and the staff very helpful. Well worth a visit.

We stopped here for lunch one day, I had a cheese soufflé which came with a sauce and was absolutely sublime. My husband had mushroom soup which he was ecstatic about. He is a keen cook himself. We decided to return for a birthday treat even though it is an hour drive from where we live! My husband had the... More

The service is adequate in this potentially atmospheric restaurant hidden away in the small streets of Cirencester. It is very pricey and on the whole our food and quality of the wine list didn't reflect this. "Locally sourced" ingredients are fashionable ( although I'm struggling a bit with the smoked salmon and mackerel terrine my husband said was very good)... More
