We went today and were surprised by what we saw. We realised we hadn’t been for a year and we found a rather chaotic pub with unhappy customers. We went for a drink, other diners who waited ‘ages’ for food suggested we were better off!...More

On New Year's day the pub struggled to find enough staff members to serve the customers and as a consequence the remaining staff really struggled to keep up with demand. We have since taken steps to ensure that we are able to cope with demand...More

Visited on a really quiet night, Christmas eve eve. We were the only people in the pub! Large traditional pub, sprawling grounds out of the way up a spooky muddy lane. Staff friendly food OK, I had a steak, onion rings and chips and was...More

Dear Joanne, The pub was indeed very quiet on Christmas Eve as most people were at home with their families. Following your comments, the ribs have been removed from the menu, thank you very much for your feedback. Sam

This is one of our favourites, always cosy, and welcoming. Friendly staff, and excellent environment. A short walk with our dogs by the disused canal always deserves a pint, surely?

Two couples for lunch today. Simple dishes ordered, whitebait, burgers, a salad. Portions were enormous, which just means twice as much food left on the plate because it's really not very good. A salad of hallumi and falafel was dire, the hallumi a palid stringy...More

Dear Guest, I am so sorry that you had a bad experience here at the Tunnel under previous management. We took this pub over in December 2017 with a commitment to serving high quality, good value food and drink. Please come back and we are...More

Perhaps one of the longest driveways you’ll find to any pub. The tunnel house is not short on location. If I was to base this review on looks alone they would score higher as there is so much to take in that the whole place...More

If you can find it you will probably enjoy it. My wife and I found the Tunnel House Inn because Google Maps was rerouting us back to Ewen and a sign pointed down this gravel road that was put down back in the Roman times...More
