Booked over the phone very easily, the atmosphere is lovely inside, very homely and warm, the food is absolutely to die for, even the fries were top notch, I had a brisket burger and the mac and cheese, other half got the platter which he couldn't finish (unusual for him), meat was tender and flavoursome. Service was friendly and quick!
The only thing I would highlight is that we booked a table for 6 and were told when we got there that the kitchen didn't open until 630, this was fine as we had a drink and a chat but was an unexpected delay.

I can't rate the place high enough. They were brilliant from 1st contact through to paying the bill. The staff we friendly, polite and extremely helpful weather it was an adult or child that asked the question the individual got 100% attention from the member if staff. The food was stunning, one of the best meals we have ever had. The portions are large yet you don't want to leave any even when full. We even asked to take some home as we couldn't eat it all and they made sure it was all wrapped up for us. 100% recommend this place for a stunning meal and great atmosphere.

Absolutely excellent food. The mixed platter was particularly superb and the salt & pepper squid was a highlight too. Great traditional pub vibe too. Highly recommend. We will be back.

Fabulous smoked food and fantastic welcoming staff.
Having had BBQ in Texas earlier in the year we were craving some smoked meat.
We had the platter to share for lunch which was divine- amazing tender brisket, pulled pork, chicken wings, pork rib. Great dips accompanied.
Highly recommend!

Really tasty food and generous portions. Not sure how we managed to clear the lot but we did! I had the most meaty ribs ever and all of the other dishes looked great too. Well worth checking this place out.

Wow what an amazing place to eat, drink and be merry.
The food is incredible but one has to start with the hospitality. A warm welcome as soon as you arrive by every member of staff, who are super efficient and with such genuine care. Then the brilliant owner Neil who’s passion for entertaining a his guests matched his brilliant food.
The smokehouse and grill food is something to experience. Tasty from extensive smoking and preparation and fun to eat. I had the to die for Beef Shin Onion soup with Cheese on Toast and smoked chicken wings. My friends had the mixed grill. All amazing. Chef Neil shows us his smoker where the magic happens with best quality butchers meat.

We were a visiting group of friends from out of town but made to feel like locals. A true traditional way to greet visitors.
I’ll be coming back with my wife as it’s great for couples too.
We went back the next day it was so good, to see a great band they laid on.
Whether you are local or visiting, you can’t beat this place for quality food, good times and the warmest hospitality. We came as visitors and left having made friends as they care so much for their community.
We’ll be back soon!

Found this place to day, arrived without a booking at 6pm. Although busy they managed to get us a table. The food was fantastic, we had the mixed platter with a side of pork belly bites and another of salt and pepper squid with chipotle aioli (actually starters but we had them as sides) Everything was spot on, all cooked on a proper smoker. The chef certainly knows his BBQ.
We have already booked to return for Sunday lunch.

Good solid burgers and chips are decent enough solid 8/10 will be going back to sample the brisket as they had none when we came beer is lovely good pub pool darts you name it. and nice atmosphere well worth a visit. Would 100% return

We decided to try this place out as I'm a fan of proper BBQ (smokehouse style, not cremated sausages!)
We had a platter with a couple of extra sides, it was plenty for the two of us. All the food was great, I particularly liked the ribs and pork belly bites. The sides were a perfect match, delicious pit beans and mac n cheese.
We're going to have to come back for the burgers, a bit of food envy as they went past to other tables.

This place was quite a surprise.not your usual pub food. Its a smokehouse. I had the bbq platter it was delicious, especially the ribs & pulled pork. My husband had a pulled pork burger. Also delicious. For what we got, the price was pretty good also. Would definitely recommend.

My partner found this place whilst looking for somewhere to go for dinner while visiting Cirencester. It was a 15 minute walk from our hotel opposite the church. We love smokehouse food and have been to a few similar restaurants. The food was good, I had the smoked platter. The brisket didn't have much flavour and was cold but everything else was really nice. There was a lot of food! i had asked if it was better to share and was told it was individual but I definitely could have shared it and then got a couple of sides. My husband has the brisket burger which he said was good. The only let down really was the service. overall it was nice but not the best smokehouse place we've been to.

The real deal. Great tasting BBQ with authentic smoke flavour that can’t be faked. Sunday lunch was fantastic. The cauliflower cheese is now our benchmark for others to live up to. Staff were brilliant. Well worth the trip.

We came here for the evening as part of a business get together for a pre challenge meal.
The choice of beers and spirits was excellent, both local and international brands. Good selection of local Cotswold gin.
The staff were excellent and efficient, very relaxed despite being busy.
The food was amazing, best BBQ food I’ve tasted and I LOVE BBQ food. This makes places like the Red Dog in London look like Mc Donald’s. Well done on getting great meat and outrageous flavour.
We live over 3 hours away in Essex, but I will make a return visit to this area for the food.

We decided to visit this pub and were pleased we did. From the moment we walked in the staff were friendly and helpful. We were given a nice table in a quiet position. The menu was varied and quite extensive. We shared the belly pork bites and chicken wings to start and both were delicious. To follow my husband had the pork ribs and I had the mac'cheese and coleslaw. We just about managed an ice-cream to finish! I can thoroughly recommend this place

Good amazing well worth the wait. The ribs were huge and the best we’ve tasted, excellent quality meat. Burnt ends really good as were the chicken wings and burgers. Good customer service, highly recommend.
