Location and contact

A fantastic little pub situated in the Cotswold region which boasts great British pub food with indoor or outdoor seating. Regular live music Friday nights of varying genres, and a challenging pub quiz every Thursday night. We are also proud of our alcohol, as one of the few remaining free houses in Fairford and surrounding areas, which we have 4 draught Lagers, 3 draught Ciders, minimum of 3 local/ Guest Ales, Guinness and a wide variety of spirits and soft drinks. So please come down, try our food and allow us to make you feel welcome.

The exterior does not match the interior. Outside looks like a typical old Cotswold pub, but inside lets it down. In saying that, it was quite busy with locals.

We previously booked with someone else for a friends babyshower but after them being unhelpful we asked the railway very last min if we could hold it there. I’m so pleased we did as it was a brilliant afternoon. The staff were very welcoming, food...More

went as again they allowed pets. Very limited menu but the food was good. A little worried as Saturday evening and only 2 people in for dinner, however, Leek tart was good as was the veg curry. Very friendly staff.

Situated in this quaint village (church has the oldest stained glass windows in the country) pub provided us with a lovely Sunday lunch. Good menu offering a Sunday roast special and the chips (fries) were awesome. Good selection on menu for most diets and drinking...More

We visited a couple of weeks ago, having not been for a while. It certainly is a popular place on a summer evening, with the seating area out the front, even if it is onto the road! We sat inside and all enjoyed our meal....More

Sat out at the front of the pub with the two dogs. The waitress was very friendly and made time to have a chat and told us a bit about the local area. The four of us all enjoyed our 3 course meal and drinks....More

Went for an impromptu meal after work. Plate wasn’t warmed and meal only just warm. Roast potatoes tasted warmed up and vegetables lacked flavour due to be plastered in butter. Very disappointing for the money.

Enjoyed a fantastic 3 course festive menu last night at the Railway Inn. Delicious food at a good price with great attentive service. Cosy, friendly and even the dogs got a treat.
