Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Having camped overnight we were looking for hot drinks at about 7am. The owner, Kelly, was bright and really welcoming. We had 2 excellent cups of tea (Yorkshire, of course) and 2 freshly made toasted sandwiches which were delicious. A lovely little place, were regulars...were all greeted by name, and strangers were made to feel like friends.More

The sign outside drew me in, it said ‘proper coffee’, I couldn’t resist, and it didn’t disappoint. Warm, friendly welcome, superb coffee, great atmosphere, everything a good coffee shop should be. Highly recommended.

We visited Grouch today for a coffee and a piece of cake. The atmosphere and friendliness of the staff was really good. The cakes were lovely and very fresh. Our only criticism was the size of the coffee, the cups were rather mediocre considering the...price. They tasted really good but we would have liked a bit more for our money. We would commend you on the service and quality of the food. What a lovely little cafe. Thanks.More

Great place for coffee and cakes. Service and staff were fantastic. They know their coffee and how to serve it. The cake selection is great and all baked on the premises. Only eight tables inside but very cosy

A really friendly place with excellent service. The cakes are all made on site and are delicious. This is a prime example of a customer-centric business that is well-run, with people who are passionate what they do.

Grouch is the place you drive out of your way to visit*, just for the award-winning coffee, or the incredible, freshly-baked brownies**, or the fact that Kelly remembers you from last time. Luckily for me, I don’t have to drive out of my way, so...I get to go there at least once a week. If you find yourself in the vicinity, you should do the same - or maybe just take that drive. It’s worth it.*** *The first time I went I literally heard a guy in the queue in front of me tell Kelly he had driven out of his way to get his coffee from there. **There are many other types of delicious snack, also amazing, cheese-forward toasties. *** Boring technical info: there is free parking nearby in the town centre car park or the supermarket a couple of minute’s walk away; there isn’t a loo but there are public toilets in the town centre car park and also in the supermarket you may have already parked in.More

I have been coming to Grouch to see Kelly and the girls everyday for quite sometime now, and I really wouldn't go anywhere else for my coffee. The coffee is the best tasting coffee around and I am literally obsessed with the Apple and Banana...bread that Kelly bakes herself. Once you have a coffee here, all other coffees just won't taste the same!! The service is amazing and the girls are so friendly and welcoming, they always greet you with a smile and friendly banter! There's no other coffee shop (I'm convinced in the world!) Like it!!! Go.....you won't be disappointed!! Thanks as always girls!!!More
